Thread: Bomb London!

    Post Bomb London!

At our Games Club last night we decided to have our first BoB game using the new London Maps that came with the Giant Kickstarter Models.
We had a Heinkel 111 flown by Ross, Molders 109-E3 flown by Glen up against a Spitfire flown by Dal, A Polish Hurricane flown by Andrew & Sandford Tuck's Hurricane flown by myself.

A few pics of the action follows:

    The Jerry Raiders.

The Bomber misses the Target but kills lots of fish in the Thames!

Finally at the cost of the Spitfire & his own aircraft Sanford Tuck brings down the German Bomber.

Sorry for only those few pics but it was some of the chaps first effort playing WW2 rules so I was kept busy sorting out rules etc.
The maps were really great for a BoB Bombing game & we learnt at our peril how deadly the number of guns on the Heinkel could be.

The best method of attack would seem to be from the front.

The Polish Hurricane & the 109 both survived the game which was called once the Bomber went down.

    G'day Pete!

I put all the maps on the floor of our spare room & heaped lots of large heavy books on top for a week or so then ironed them with a steam iron over a linen tea towel.
Still see some slight creases but they dont show on the games table or photos.

I now roll the maps in a loose cylinder shape with rubber bands.

That map really makes the models pop! Makes me tempted to get into the BoB side of WGS. Glad you were able to bring new folks into the fold!

Haven't given that a try yet but I will. Also bought plexy to cover while using as they are made of paper but keep them rolled for storage

In that case shouldn't the title be Bomb Lonadon as per the Staken box misprint info?

I love these maps. I'll be using them again in 9 days at an upcoming local show with my Staakens. Can't wait to have the BoB reprints on these maps like yours Baz.

    Nice action over London, Barry.

Standard question because of the "deadly" He.111:

Did you use the "aim" rule for the bomber's gunners?

I see and know your point to not use it. Hmmm...

Thanks for your report. The mats look very impressive.

In our games my opponent hasn't had too much trouble shooting down my Heinkels, clearly I'm doing something wrong...

Good AAR Barry, the maps do look great.

Now I am back into it I need to play some WGS again, this has whetted my appetite.
