Have a great time, Peter! Cold Wars is always a fun time...some lads from our local group are heading there and hopefully they'll stop by to see what's up!

    All the best,
    Matt

Got to run a couple of great battles Saturday. Some photos will be posted in a day or two. Had one Aerodrome member and his son play in both and another dropped by to say hi.

Sounds like fun, if you did get a picture of the Coral Sea op, I'd be interested.

Ok, here we go. 1st game up was the bomber raid on London. 6 players joined the game and I ran the bombers with random movement. Each British player flew two planes.

3 Zeppelin Staakens and 3 Gothas cross the channel hoping to bomb London. 12 interceptors quickly engaged and immediately put a wrench in the German plans.

The nice formation is gone as the bombers try to avoid each other as well as the British.

The new BOOM rule where it equals half a bombers full strength... doesn't matter.

Hot corner. Both Gotha and Strutter have jammed guns! Strutter pilot was quite frustrated but that he couldn't shoot as was the Gotha.

Look at those beautiful Staakens. Oh, they are both on fire, what a shame!

Seems all the BOOM cards were printed in German.

One Gotha did make it to London. He had a flock of angry birds with him.

On to the Coral Sea... we had the two carriers, Yorktown and Lexington, two cruisers and three destroyers. (Damage points of 40, 30 and 20) Six Wildcats on CAP.
Japanese had five Zeros, four Kate torpedo bombers and 8 Val dive bombers to start. (5 Wildcats and many re spawns for the Japanese) Bombs and torpedoes drew a 'D' chit, torps could redraw a zero once. Bombs got full damage if the dot on the bomb card, (cards I made, basically the bomb icon) half if the bomb card hit the ship counter. Cruisers had two AA shots of 'C' out to two measure sticks, Carriers and Destroyers one each. The round counters in the water are AA plots. (Active when gun side was up)
All ships also had one 'A' chit shot per turn out to one measure.

I didn't get the shot but the New Orleans was hit with a second torp and took severe damage and a fire. The New Orleans succumbed to the fire.

Both Carriers survived the battle, Lex very badly damaged, Yorktown not so bad, both Cruisers went down and the destroyers were untouched.

I was puzzled as to why the cruisers were attacked when it was clearly stated the carriers were the key to the battle. convention gamers, what can you do!

It was an intense battle and fun to run. With 23 planes in the air there was a lot going on!

If the Aerodrome member that stopped by reads this could you raise your hand and introduce yourself (again) as I was totally brain dead
by the end of the evening and can't remember who you were!

Awesome reports, Peter! Looks like tons of fun - are those Topside Minis you're using for the American ships in your Pacific scenario?

It looks like lots of action happening in both games - did the fellow who's an Aerodrome member with his son in tow have a full beard? If so, he was the guy from our merry band who was going to the con with his son...

    All the best,
    Matt

Hi Michael, thanks for stopping by to say hello. Good to meet another Drome member. Too bad you couldn't play, another pilot or two would have been nice.

I usually run my Wings games on Saturdays. I think my next venture down there will be Cold Wars '17. I'll probably miss Fall In as I am thinking of going to a local con in Vermont that will save me 3+ hours driving each way!
