Thread: Stowe Marie's Aerodrome event

    Default Stowe Marie's Aerodrome event

If you live close enough to Stowe Marie's Aerodrome, they are holding an event on the 16th April:

"Stow Maries Aerodrome and the WW1 Aviation Heritage Trust have teamed up with photographer Andy Rouse and Timeline Events to present a WWI Afternoon, Sunset and Night photography event on April 16th.

Festivities will kick off at around 4pm and will include reenactors posing with aircraft, aerial demonstrations and sunset engine runs. After dusk, the airfield’s lights will turn on to provide photographers with “a whole different dimension”, complete with additional engine runs that will bring the event to a close around 9pm.

Among the aircraft expected to participate in the day’s activities are TVAL-built BE2e, Albatros DVa and Sopwith Snipe replicas, as well as the Bremner brothers’ newly completed Bristol Scout and a 7/8 scale SE5a. A Morane Saulnier Type N and Bleriot XI recently loaned to Stow Maries by Bianchi Aviation Film Services are also slated to appear on static display along with a period electric truck/RFC van.

The event will be held at Stow Maries Aerodrome in Essex. Ticket information and additional details can be found at www.timelineevents.org"

It should be mentioned however that tickets are £69 each..........

Too far and a bit pricey for me - but someone has to go and get the photographs for the rest of us.....

Sadly it isn't going to be me as it is the same day as Salute in London, otherwise I would've been there like a rat up a drainpipe.

But a thought occurs - have we enough bodies close by to put a demo game on at one of their events?

It would suit me as it isn't far from my house.

    Curses!
Will be up at Neil's that day on the way to Praag.
This year seems too packed already.

I'm also at Salute putting on a game that day - but can certainly get up to Stow Maries for a game at some point (with a bit of warning).

Also looking forward to any pics they put on Facebook after this event

Ooops - sorry Steve, should have been clearer. I was responding to your thought about potentially putting on a demo game at one of their events.

Brian, I got what you meant, I wasn't clear. What game are you doing at Salute? I'll amble over and say Hi.
