Thread: Sheffield Triples

  1. #1

    Default Sheffield Triples

I know Chris will want to run this thread but I'm starting it off for him as this is the show I am heading for at the end of the month, neck be willing that is.

I can definitely make Sunday, however Chris (Boney10) has asked me if I can make Saturday instead. I can only confirm this in about 5 days time, ie the weekend.

Chris has also hinted at putting on another large bomber (WGF) game like WMMS last yer.

    To get the ball rolling:

    1. Who is up for this?
    2. Who can provide HP 0/400 and who can provide Caproni Ca3's? (Numbers please and what day you could provide them on).

Hoping to get 8-12 0/400's and a similar number of Capronis. All taken on by the might of the German AirWar machine.

    Neil

(and just for Chris (Hedeby) they will move this time, have a target and won't suddenly appear somewhere else, like behind you)
See you on the Dark Side......

I'll be there both days (hotel booked!).

I can bring 2 0/400s (I doubt that my Shapeways ones will be ready in time).

    Capronis, 8 (or possibly 10, I forget).

German AirWar machine; more than I can count!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

  3. #3

    Default

I will be there at least one day. Both if Capt Kiwi can pick me up on one of the days.
    2 HPs and 4 Caproni.

On either the Saturday (19th) or Sunday (20th) Marion and I will come along for moral support

Anything we could bring with us like sandwiches or owt? Please let me know as well if you need help setting up.

I'm awfully sorry I cannot contribute any kit but my WGF collection hasn't reached ten in strength yet! Hoping it's going to be as enjoyable and good-humoured as Hammerhead 2016 was.

Just one last thing - Where's Triples being held this year please?

Just realised it was at Triples 2012 that I first met Rob and joined this illustrious collective, could have celebrated my 4th anniversary there but they have brought it forward by about 4 weeks... so waiting until 27th May for that party

We have 4 slots which equates to 2 big tables for Triples,
I poropose Sails and WW1 for the Saturday and WW1 and WW2 for Sunday.

So bring along what you want for both days.
As for the raid depending when Neil can make it we will run in conjunction with this.

    I have 2 HP 400 and a HP 100 and 6 Caproni.

Look forward to seeing you chaps in. Couple of weeks

Sounds like a good plan Chris.

    6 400's, 1 100 and upto 20 Capronis.

We have enough. But any more 400's will be most welcome.

What time do you want me there Sat morning Chris (Boney10)?

    Great Neil.
Eileen and I will be there Saturday doing a General Inspection, and getting in a game.
Not sure about Sunday. It all depends on if Cpt. Kiwi can give me a lift.

The big game will be the 400's plus the 100 and enough Capronis to take the total to 12.

Now I'm sure I have a target hereabouts.......

Ok chaps a week to go .
Confirmed we have two tables, in the smaller of the rooms same as last year, we will so WW1 and Sails Saturday.

Myself and Maverick will do sails could I ask Scaflok and Tim to look after WW1.
The intention will be to have a large Handley Page raid on the Saturday after lunch.
So could anyone eith a HP model please bring, I hope we can break the dozen mark.

Tim if you could do your standard magic in the morning aided by Scaflok, FOKyte and Hedeby, plus anyone else who turns up and interested it would be great, the Neil will run the great HP raid in the afternoon untill the end.

Sunday we will do WW1 again, as it is most popular, then would anyone want WW2 or I can do sails again.

Anyone about please pop along and say hi and have a chat.

We need to be at site for around 9 to set up, although the doors will be open at 8 am
We are in the Badmington area .i intend to be there just after 0830

    Hi Chris.
I would very much like to get the chance at some Sails, as my participation in this area needs some in house experience.

I regret to announce that my father passed away yesterday.

I am currently at the family home in Dorset, chugging through all the paperwork/funeral arrangements/general psychological stress.

    Triples is in doubt.

I will clarify as things get sorted during the week.

    Apologies to all.

Triples will not be the same without you, but sometimes family matters have to take priority especially when of this magnitude.

    Hello all.

Well, after a few days of blue-arsed-fly shenanigans, and family-filled duties, I have made it back to my own aerodrome.

I have the next three days to look forward to, rattling around and trying to find things to occupy my mind, before a return to work on Tuesday.

An alternative presents itself, though - a couple of days of flying fun with my friends, then one day to recover.

Therefore, if no one minds, I'll make my way to Triples tomorrow, and try to put recent events behind me, at least for a little while.

Very many thanks to all of you who have left messages of sympathy and support, and all the offers of help, by post, PM and text - I appreciate them all, I really do.
If I can find a way to repay your kindnesses, I will do so.

    See some of you tomorrow.

    Tim
