Thread: Breguet 2 Fokkers 0

    Default Breguet 2 Fokkers 0

Thought I would try out a scenario tonight with my son flying a Breguet 14 on a bombing mission with me trying to intercept him with a couple of Fokker DVII's.
Two wrecked DVII's later I decided to call it a day, I pulled two explosion cards one from shooting and one from a collision, my second plane was also within 1 damage point of going down anyway. The Breuget 14 had meanwhile bombed the target twice and even though it had caught fire left the table with barely a scratch.
I will have to use more planes next time

Thanks for the after-action report. The Breguets are pretty tough!

Good one! I think 5 D7s would be good.

Breguet with the A/A is a tough nut to crack --- but that huge wingspan gets it in trouble too...

These are very interesting observations chaps, as I have not had time to fly my Breguet yet. i will have to make an effort to get a sortie this week which includes one.

My oldest son likes to fly the Breguet. In 3 sorties, he has shot down 2 Albatross DV's and a Fokker DVII of mine. I have only 1 Breguet to show for it. Aaarrgggghhh!!!!

Tell your sons that they prove the old saying, It's not the plane, It's the PILOT.

Nice one Don - More D.VIIs required !
Two seaters are tough - My first outing with a Rumpler & Mohnickes tripe was looking promising against two SEs. I was tearing lumps off them until one of them managed a head on pass on the Rumpler causing two cards of damage, the second of which was the critical damage card Fuel tank ignited & down she went. Mohnicke wisely took the opportunity to slide off back to base at this point as even a SE with engine damage is quicker than him !

The American DH4 and the B14s are indeed tough customers. The A rear gun and good health (plus in the DH4's case high speed) mean they won't go down easy, and will tear things up as they are getting hit.

The Roland has the fun of it's super wide rear arc, but it doesn't stack up vs the over gunned tank that is the B14, or the speedy death cannon on wings that is the DH4.

I will be very happy to leave the RE8 behind, which has abysmal health, speed, and firepower. Still a ways to go yet in our campaign though.

I've also gone up against the Breguet, but with different results. I flew a D.VII and a Pfalz D.IIIa while my son piloted the Breguet with a Spad XIII escort. I managed to take down the Breguet (just as it was getting ready to bomb its target) by focusing all of my attacks on IT and ignoring the Spad. Unfortunately the Spad managed to escape, but it was still a successful defense for my planes.

So don't worry, the brutes can be taken down.
