Default Printing decals: how to get tem in the right size

    Cheers!
There is something about printing decals that always troubled me: getting them into the right size
I wonder how do you guys do it? what program you use? what's your step-by-step procedure?

    I do the following:

1- import a blue print of the plane I will place the decals in a world document
    2- reduce to scale
3- print the image and compare with an actual mini
4- repeat steps 2 and 3 until the image of the plane is same size than actual mini

5- find the images I want to transform into a decal
6- phostoshop them until I'm satisfied with them
7- import the photoshop image to the same word document
8- reduce size in the world document comparing them with the plane image
9 - do about 3 images of the decal-prototipe of diferent sizes
    10- print in paper
11- cut with sisors and try to fit them into the actual mini
12- find which one fits better
13- repeat steps 8 to 13 until I find a decal-prototipe size that fits the mini
14- print the correct size decal into decal paper ... now I'm done

I'm sure there should be an easier and better way to do it... some program that allows me to measure the decals in milimiters before printing ...
    what do you do?

I'd love to know - I have still not managed to successfully print my own decals.

If I can figure out an easy way to re-sizing I'll post an step-by-step tutorial about how to do it. Scout's honor.

After I get the image I want, I reduce it by eye in MS Word. Then print it out on paper, cut it out and place on the plane until it is to scale. Usually get it in 3 to 6 attempts.

I have yet to attempt the German camo but like regular images like insignia, once you have it you can use it as a guide for other images.

So far on my first two attempts I have printed a ~1/2 page of lozenge decal. I cut out templates for the pieces I need. Trace on the back of the decal and cut them out.

I hope to graduate to being able to print decal the correct size in the proper shapes.
