    Default Greetings All!

    Hi,

I've just signed up for the aerodrome.

I've had a few games of Wings of Glory now, and laid out a little cash to get some aircraft, and even got my son to play a few games with me.

Most recently, I went to Vapnartak at York (which is very close to home for me), where my son and I played in the WWII participation game. I was really impressed by the playsheets they were using - I'm hoping to find them here, which I haven't done yet.

One thing I'm considering for the future is to run a game at my local Air Cadets squadron (where I'm a Civilian Instructor) - I'd love to hear if anyone has any experiences of doing that.

    Cheers

    Andrew

Welcome to the Aerodrome Andrew from Derbyshire. As you may have told from Vapartnak our Yorkshire contingent is strong ... It's great to have you adding to the numbers.

Loads of Members play Wings of Glory with family members - all part of the fun is the fact that the game is not as anti-social as PC gaming is for instance. However the game does play well Solitaire / solo. Offers the best learning opportunities IMHO.

Make yourself at home and anything you need please just ask - the silent rule here is the only stupid question is the one which was never asked

    Welcome to the site, Andrew
You remind me a story of one our friend's brother-in-law. He is a chief of Czech Air Force and our friend gave him a deluxe set of WGS. One day, chief took his box to HQ and during a coffeebreak show it to his colleagues. Just imagine - ten high officers in their blue uniforms playing WGS like boys

Welcome aboard from South Yorkshire - if you need a hand running anything let me know and we will see what we can arrange... Didn't get a chance to say hi at Vapnartak as I was too busy getting shot down by schoolkids on the WW1 table

    Thumbs up

G'day Andrew & a warm welcome from the Pilots who fly in NSW down in Australia.

Many of the chaps here on the Forum have done Demo games at Air Shows, Museums & other venues so I reckon the Air Cadets will jump right in.
Incidently I was in the Air Training Corps here in Australia when I was at High School as the School ran a Squadron. Great times away at
biannual camps, Street Parades & Aerodrome visits not to mention shooting .303's at ANZAC Rifle Range.

    Welcome, Andrew,
From Vancouver Island, only 7,500 kms from you. The people I've played the most Wings of Glory games with are on either side of you, North and South. Neil [Skafloc] and Paul [tikkifriend]. Andy [nightbomber] has played a few games with me, and Darell [grumpybear] is getting to be a regular. Distance is not a barrier, if you want to play.

Air Cadets would be a great audience with whom to introduce this game. And you are right in the thick of players to help out with coaching/presentation opportunities, too. I was an Air Cadet, and that was where I was introduced to Richthofen's War, Luftwaffe, Ace of Aces, amoung other tactical simulations. Wings of War would have been awesome, had I been introduced to it, back then. Go for it!
