Thread: Map of WW1 Aerodromes.

    Exclamation Map of WW1 Aerodromes.

A few years back I posted this image showing the locations of Allied & German aerodromes but the image was lost when the site was hacked.

Recently I received a PM from Jerome (Grosse) from France asking if I could supply supply him a copy so I thought it might be of interest to forum members who have joined since that time.

Wonderful Barry! May I ask the book reference? I am a bit crazy on books! Sometimes I buy food if I have too.

Sorry David I got it via the Aerodrome historical forum many years ago so not sure of its origin.

That's from Time-Life's _Epic of Flight_, _Knights of the Air_, isn't it?

Now if only we could get site-plans for how various fields were laid out to go with it... granted, many were just big tents for hangars thrown up on a sufficiently large stretch of clear flat land.

Barry you were just Repped for this thread - thank you as I never saw this first time around and as you know I'm going to find this rather useful from now on!

What we now need is a clear map of UK airfields RFC / RNAS during WW1 if anybody has one they could post ...
