Wise move, Barney. There is a WORLD to explore.
Besides that, I am sure WingCo will pull out a crate of Gin on that very fine occasion.

Ease yourself in gently. Start with some Eindeckers and Morane Saulniers.

Sven, wake up please we need you!

I used to want to play S***s just the once (or twice) just to say I have done it and not been cynical.

Then came the decision to do this ... If you snooze until I join the sales camp you'll be gone for ever

    Barney,
Are you busy Saturday evening? I'd love to meet you across a virtual table for a dogfight. You now have the maneuver decks you need to join the Skype game.

International Skype Game Invitation - 1917 Dogfight

If you have the time, and can PM your Skype ID to me, we can get you into a game with a few people around the globe. Darell [grumpybear] is teaching me altitude.

That's a nice gaggle, Barney. Plenty of options, there... D.VII vs Snipe (or SPAD), Dr.I (or Albatros) vs Camel, D.Va vs SPAD... and a Gotha to go a' hunting.

Thats a nice starting haul Barney but you really do need a couple of 2 seaters especially a Bristol Fighter & a Halberstadt, Rumpler or similar.

Exactly my words, wingman. Sometimes, when I draw a damage card during WGS missions, I, really miss these...cards...

True word from a gun jam specialist.

I remember a few situations when you maneuvered you plane excellent in perfect shooting position and your guns were jammed.

Yes, I remember this game too - academically perfect moves, practically just fail. But even in these situations, you can still ram the enemy

Glad to see the Light Side has claimed a bit of your soul, Barney! You will enjoy WGF (I predict), and the beginning mix of planes you've assembled is a great mid/late war starting point.

Have fun as you become a Magnificent Man in your Flying Machine!

    All the best,
    Matt

Well ... On February 15th 2016 my introductory kit-package arrived safely and I have opened it: HERE WE GO.

To document what happens from now on I have started a brand new Circuits and Bumps II thread - all contributions welcome as the ethos once again is the learning of WGF - very much a How To ... Natured thread.

We won't be seeing the Gotha G.V just yet and I have already documented the sign-up & selection process for the RFC as far as training at RFC Halton and the Avro 504. Once again ALL CONTRIBUTIONS WELCOME

Get yourself a Shorthorn Barney. I have a spare log book for you to record your flying hours in.
    PM me with your address.

Good call. That and a Longhorn wouldn't be out-of-place in an RFC training program. Quick question about that log book, Rob. Is it one of those sold by Keith way back in the day? If so, might you snap a couple pics of the covers and interiors? I'm curious as to how they looked and wouldn't be opposed to producing something of the like for myself.

And if it's not at all like that, I'd still love a look at it.

    Thanks.

Pity there isn't a 1/144 Scale rendition of the R504K anywhere for me to use in game mechanics photos over on Circuits & Bumps II - could do with one because at this rate the first aircraft I am able to use is the Spad.

Would like to do the graduated approach again like with WGS / Circuits & Bumps I as there are SO many to acquire and the situation remains the same. Rather than taking the gamer approach which Richard Seville suggested I could take today with: Hells Teeth! There's a Gotha approaching the training camp!!!

There is SO much to learn but I am not going to wilt under the pressure - WGS seems to be much easier in comparison but there again WGS was backed up by a ten year interest in WW2 Aviation before I began playing. So I knew how to structure everything. Glad I have chosen the stance to write C & B II from instead of writing it as a flight instructor because this is rapidly turning into a REAL trainee pilot experience for me - literally and laterally

Shorthorns & Longhorns ... Flying attire I guess - headgear?

Shapeways has the 504K in 1/144" Two if by land

    And 2 if by sea

Nice models to paint by the way. Oh the float version is a mod I did . . . : )
