It is funny, but the doubts really are and I was asked several times by my fellow players: Are these 1 or 0 damage points on rudder and engine damage chits? I can't believe your plane's engine is damaged with ZERO points.
Your thoughts?
Andy.

Yes I found this too. On the A damage chit(WWII anyway). Judging by the white being the colour of the other numbers, it is in fact a zero. I dunno maybe it's an O2 sensor light come on.
Edit: This has been determined incorrect, refer to the next post by Sven(Marechallannes) for clarification.

It's a 1.
You can see the difference by the design.
The big 1 on the 1 damage token is a straight line, the little 1 on the special damage token has the same design.
The 0 (Zero) is a oval that is interrupted twice.
All numbers on special damages are surrounded by white retangles. In case of the 1 it's perplexing.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Gah! That means my last AAR needs correcting and one plane actually exceeded the 50% damage. Not looking forward to that roll for them.
They should've made the white box the same as that of the 2 & 3 to make it clearer.

I need those cards instead of chits that were posted a while back methinks ...
