Both started to appear in early 1917.

There is a file in the Files Section that covers availability of planes very nicely.
A little earlier for the Pup - the RNAS had a few being trialled from May 1916, and it entered service on the Western front in October 1916 with Naval 8. RFC Pups appeared in December 1916 (54 squadron.) The triplane was early 1917.
Hell yes - did very well initially, and when the Albatros turned up in numbers in Bloody April 1917, the Pup and Triplane were the two British types that held their own reasonably well, in spite of being single-gunned.
