    Hi All,

My name is Peter, just joined today. To be honest with you I'm a complete beginner to Wings of War/Glory. When I was a child a friend and I actually built our own tabletop aerial combat game and had a war against each other for several years. I recently told my 2 boys (aged 6 and 9) the stories from the history and battle logs we created and they really wanted to be able to replay them. So I went about rebuilding it from memory and made the mini aircraft from card and balsa wood. After it was completed I came across Wings of Glory and started to incorporate the cards and gameplay from it. Now it's pretty much become Wings of Glory In fact I ordered Wings of War Fire in the Sky last month. From an epic scale we will still use the balsa models as we can have 30 or 40 aircrafte on the table, but for smaller skirmishes we are now using Wings of War/Glory gameplay. Love it.

Anyhoo, I've rambled on enough. Looking foward to learning tons of interesting stuff from this site and expanding the game.

Welcome to the Aerodrome from Cape Cod. You have found a fantastic game system and gathering of enthusiasts here. Having your boys to game with you are luckier than most, as many of us don't have local pilots nearby. Enjoy all that the site has to offer and don't hesitate to ask any questions as the veterans here are more than willing to help out.

Hello Peter and welcome to the Aerodrome from Derbyshire. Anything you need please feel free to ask as somebody will know and we are indeed a friendly community

Your intro reminds me of when I used to do naval battles with a junior school friend using 1:1000 scale WW2 ships. My interest changed over to WW2 aviation a number of years later though I never gave aerial battles the same treatment - just built kits etc and from 1999 onwards played PC games like Combat Flight Simulator and Il-2.
