Thread: Shuttleworth Engineering Day

    Default Shuttleworth Engineering Day

Thanks to Dave Manley's timely reminder, SWMBO and myself have just spent an excellent day at The Shuttleworth Trust. The occasion was one of the few 'Engineering Days' in the year, when you can wander around the workshops, fondle the aircraft and ask obtuse questions of the maintenance staff.

In the workshop were the Bristol Scout C

    The Bristol F2B

    The Westland Lysander

    The Spitfire V

The Battle of Hurricane I, brought back from India and restored to flying condition by Peter Vacher

and the Wallis Autogyro used in the James Bond film 'You only live twice'

The rest of the pics from the day's outing are here

Nothing exciting book-wise in the gift shop, but I did find these:

Truly a Grand Day Out Steve.
Lovely F2b , But it lacks the firepower of Mr Hedeby's famous kite.
