Default Official Snoopy the World War I flying ace thread

Since several of us have done Snoopies in various guises and sizes, I thought it appropriate to start an official thread for the little bugger!

Here is my latest version of the pup - this is the 2002 Hallmark pewter figurine; he's the perfect size to 'get airborne' - still a lot of detail in the figure, but he fits nicely onto a flight stand...

When all was said and done, he really didn't take all that long to modify and paint - certainly something worth trying if you're so inclined...

Those of you who've modified and/or painted a Snoopy for your collection or to fly, share him again (or for the first time) here!

    Thanks for looking!
    All the best,
    Matt

    Thumbs up

That is nice work Matt. I prefer the brown kennel to the usual Red one!
What size is the Hallmark model?

Here are two pictures for size comparison, Barry. Like I said above, if he were any smaller (than an inch long), I think something would be lost - as a 'gaming' piece, I think his 'just larger than scale' size works nicely.

Have only ever seen two versions of Snoopy and both come with cartoon booklets - I think that's brilliant that you have three versions. Please may we have a picture?

    PS - Pardon me ... But WW8?

There's a hallmark ornament that has Snoopy flying with Woodstock behind; if I could find one without paying an arm and a leg, I'd do it up as a Sopwith Strutter

If you perform a Google Images search, you will find there are many Snoopy Flying Ace toys. However, here is a picture of one with Woodstock. Click image for larger version.

I wonder how hard it would be to find that figurine??? Also, how many limbs would it cost?

Cheers Dave. I just got the one of Snoopy on the kennel some years ago and a recent one of him with Woodstock, but this one with Woody on the kennel is much better. looks like a two seater pusher coming on.
Anyone up for doing a card for that?
    Rob.

Ken, I purchased my initial pewter figure above for $7.50 plus shipping on Ebay - and then I found a second one for $10.50 plus shipping...if you do a search for "Snoopy #1 Ace" you should be able to find him. The last one I saw a couple of weeks ago was around $20.

    All the best,
    Matt

PS - I just checked Ebay and found him - $19.50 plus shipping from a dealer in Raleigh, NC - I guess his official Hallmark name was "Flying High"...I used the search parameters I suggested above and had no trouble finding him...

    You lucky chaps.
E-Bay US will not let me purchase anything from the site.

I also happened to see some on Amazon US, Rob - they started at $24.95...perhaps that would work...or perhaps one of us here could get one for you and ship it to Blighty...that would certainly be cheaper than 131 pounds...

    All the best,
    Matt

If they won't ship to UK I could get it for you and re-ship

    Snoopy #1 Ace

On further checking, they will ship to the UK but their rates are terrible!

I would love to try to do those very models in green stuff... (Woodstock would be TOUGH!). I think I would size Snoopy and his Doghouse down to somewhere halfway between 1/72 and 1/144... I had the Card models back in 2011 but gave them away over the years in between then and now.
