Thread: Looking for plane & management cards.

Default Looking for plane & management cards.

I'm looking for the cards for the Altaya CANT Z.506 Airone Floatplane Regia Aeronautica 171 Squadriglia, 31 Stormo and the Blomm & Voss BV222. I've looked in the usual places, but I'm either blind, or nobody has done these yet.

Save a second post, I'm also looking for the cards for the Caproni C.3 from Altaya too.

Steve, I came across this for the Altaya Caproni C.3 on E-Bay:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Altaya-1-1...0AAOSwMmBVqW65

It's in 1/144 Scale and I have bought from this Seller before - they are excellent. Hope this helps you out

Cheers, just resurrected that thread, as the workings there are a bit off.
But the base card will help.

Sorry Barnaby, I missed your post. I already have one, it is lovely. I was just feeling lazy, and seeing if anyone else had done a card.

That's great to know Steve as from what I can tell it's a very nice model - Altaya offerings usually are

It's Amercom which turn out some total stinkers at times!!!

If someone really, really, REALLY wanted a card for a plane, I would think they'd want to make sure it was sooo easy to help that the person could whip up a card in a moment or two.

They'd, perhaps, post some stats, name a unit or squadron (thank you!), name some crew, maybe even post a top-down image of their desired colour scheme.

That way, the person doing the cards wouldn't have to guess what was wanted, or scour the 'net scraping up the info, only to be wrong.

I have found and drafted up a template drawing...

That person sounds like a true Gentleman, I'd shake his hand if I ever met him.
For colour scheme, this is the plane...
    http://www.jumbliesmodels.com/diecas...00-scale-p7082
Would you ask him nicely if those pictures are good enough?

Regia Aeronautica 171 Squadriglia, 91 Gruppo, 31 Stormo

Stats as I would like them:
    Bomber Base
Deck: Rsb (sb are subscript capitals)
    Damage: 28
    Engines: 3
    Gunnery:
Dorsal turret, 360, level to high, with a front arc blind spot A/A
Ventral gun: rear arc, low, A/A
Waist guns (often not present): 3:00 to 5:00, and 7:00 to 9:00, level, A/A

The deck name is how I have them marked up in my custom designed slow deck. (linked)

Otherwise, how is your He.177 coming along?

I cheated a bit, the base stats are just copied from the documents on here. Though I did work them through, just to make sure they made sense to me.

Aaah, yes, I knew I'd seen the ideas before somewhere for the slow decks. As I said, it was a refinement of various ideas I had seen around.
Well thank you for part of the idea

When does pretty much plain grey constitute a difficult paint scheme?
Though now you have shown me that C.202 card, I'm going to have to try and paint one of the ones I have coming like that.
I think your card making skills are better than my painting skills.

Stats unknown, unit 171 Squadriglia. Prefer unknown crew.

190 Squadriglia, 86 Gruppo, 35 Stormo Bombardamento Marittimo

Although, it may be a Z506S version for Air-Sea Rescue, so no guns.

Interesting paint scheme though. Possibly similar in thought to the dazzle pattern the RNAS used in WWI to make the plains visible at sea.

Being that more than one person has this scheme, I'm making more people happy. I would have gone with the forward ventral 12.7mm and no waist gunners, but there weren't many drawings of this plane with other than the dorsal turret as armed.

There were a few of the Z506S, but it was the unarmed version. I do have a splinter Luftwaffe scheme I could throw on this template, too?

    Very acceptable.

Other colour schemes would be interesting, for future paint schemes.
I would love to know all the details of making these cards. Especially which fonts?

I may have to PM you with some requests for some Sino-Japanese schemes. All details will be provided although top downs may be hard to find. I will try my best.

I only have the one, I found a seller doing a 3 for 2, so I got one of each
I may get more in time, but then they'll need painting.

No management card for this plane, as it has one pilot, and no firing arcs. It was supposed to be for Air-Sea rescue.

Please note the revision on the above RM card. I added the blue index and arrow that should have been there.

There is an all-white paint scheme with large red crosses, both RM and Luftwaffe. And I found a Spanish Civil War scheme, too.

The Caproni Ca.3 has an official card, so I'm not inclined to do that. Sorry.
