    Default Beat this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To improve my aviation knowledge, Some times I will look for aviation quizzes on the internet, As a result I emails from various companies, Asking me to take part in an online questionnaire, You won't believe the question I was asked, Here's the screen printAttachment 182582 So I selected the answer "No" and was informed "Due to your answer you no longer qualify to continue the questionnaire" Before I forget "Happy Christmas" to all you non dead Aerodrome mates.

I wasn't aware that ghosts could manipulate computer controls well enough to answer a survey.

Also, the survey wasn't sent to a deceased person, so what were they thinking?

It reminds me a court hearing going like this:
The lawyer asking a lady witness: "How was your marriage ended?"
The witness: "It was ended by death".
    The lawyer: "Whose death?"

This doesn't beat that, but on the Canadian immigration form, there is the question...
Are you, or have you ever been, a terrorist? Yes/No

    It's close.

    I have died many times.
    Usually on a re-enactment battlefield.
    At least twice on stage.
Often when pulling the "Bang card."

The same goes for me on three different occasions ... Because of fatal accidents on Microsoft Flight Simulator. Sure we have had our fair share of crashes fires and spins on there but I am talking about certain death as the reason for which the flight was not loggable: There was one premature ending of a Tokyo \ HND to London \ LHR Boeing 747-400 flight from 28th October 2007 which still actually haunts me to this day. Mostly because of the way I could have actually done something about the MD-82 which this aircraft hit with just 90 minutes of airtime remaining to LHR. Also because of the way due to something I was engaged in at the time I came downstairs to the wife and told her how I felt I had just murdered all of my cabin-crew students ...

Have been asked if I have ever been a terrorist or at least a terrorist sympathiser on a few occasions now most of which related to Military Service. However this is still a little reminiscent of the episode of Blackadder Goes Forth called General Hospital where Baldrick has the cunning plan of asking everyone: Are you a German spy?

British customs officers at Dover still ask, "have you any weapons or explosives in this car Sir?" I wonder how many 'yes' answers they get? The odd thing is I have only been asked this question on the way out of the UK, never when coming back in. You'de think they would be glad to know you are taking them out of the country wouldn't you?

On the Isle of Wight Ferry you have to declare any Gas bottles for your cooking, heating etc.
Chap comes round to check the travel documents, so I tell him I have two Bottles in the trailer as required by the form.
Not interested in that sir! Well how about the 6KG of Gunpowder in the boot then. No sir!
O.K. then I wont mention the Firearms.

You guys should read the (200 or so) questions asked in a US Visa application form that I had to answer in 2012 before flying to ORIGINS.
All of the above and more.
But of course I understand that it is all about catching the applicant as a liar and that is absolutely fair and just.

However, you should see the eyes of a nice and handsome immigrant officer in the US Consulate in Cracow who asked me what was the goal of my trip to America.
Try to guess what my answer was.

One of the dumbest questions which I have ever noticed on the Aerodrome features in Posting #22 of the Avro Vulcan Conventional Bombing Mission AARs Thread (WW2 Missions.) An old friend of mine was responsible for the following quote regarding one of the most famous sieges of WW2 - who else remembers this:

I thought you said something about XH560 bombs Montecassino in your next mission. What was Montecassino anyway - some sort of dug out?

I've actually answered yes to that. We were coming back from a Napoleonic reenactment, and were carrying our Baker Rifles.

My grandad worked for BAE for many years, largely on Rapier, and occasionally got the job of taking the stand, and mock-up Rapier launcher, to Farnborough and suchlike. One weekend the army green land rover normally used for this broke down, so they had to tow their Rapier launcher up the motorway to somewhere or other behind a hired white Ford Transit. Quite a lot of people rang the police that weekend....

Some ferry services will not allow materials of that type on board due to the fire and explosion risk that they pose (I was involved in setting up a service and htis was a hot topic for the particular type of ship we were looking at since one of her sister ships had been lost due to a fire caused by a lorry driver's gas stove in his cab). In many cases though a simple awareness of the location of materials of interest is sufficient in order to be able to inform firefighters if a fir ebreaks out on a vehicle deck. And the risk posed by black powder is pretty minimal anyway in that context.

I'm always amused by the landing card you have to fill in prior to touching down in the U.S. - "Are you, or have you ever been a member of a terrorist group? Are you in possession of a firearm?, Are you carrying foodstuffs in to the United States?", etc. However, I always now fill in this form with a twinge of guilt.

About 10 years ago myself and SWMBO flew to Washington, and a little Indian lady was sat next to me. It soon became clear that she spoke no English, as all through the flight, every time there was an announcement she elbowed me in the arm and expected me to translate for her, which was odd because I don't speak Indian.... Anyways, being an obliging fella I did my best, and this happened at least a dozen times, each time accompanied by the dig in the arm, and by the time we were near Washington I had just about had enough of this. So, around comes the stewardess with the landing cards, gives one to my new likkle Indian chum with a pen. Sure enough, a dig in the arm followed by the landing card and pen thrust in my face to fill in for her. I took her passport so that I would have a fighting chance of spelling her name right, then I proceeded to fill out the form for her: Question 1 - Are you, or have you ever been a member of a terorist group? Question 2 - Are you in possession of a firearm? I often wonder how long it took to clear immigration....... According to SWMBO at the time I was destined to go straight to hell

In Chicago, the dead have been voting regularly for decades. Don't see why the precinct captains couldn't get them to answer surveys as well.

You are all almost right, chaps. I told the lady I was going to play air war games. She looked at me smartly and grab a virtual pad with her two hands asking "like this? Wroooom". I answered no, explaining shortly what a miniatures game is Then she handed me my passport and said "So have a nice flight, Sir".
