"See you, Jimmy!"
In parts of Italy, the day of the Saint with your name is even more important than your birthday.
If I were home I'd tip on back wi' ye.
But, alas, it will have to be in me mind. ...
Building up a nice collection of single malts.
I'll have one or three on my RTB
Happy St Andrew's Day to all our pilots north of the border, however, I would not recommend flying in a kilt.
My mums Father was a Scots Presbyterian by name of Thomas so I have one quarter Scot, one quarter Irish (Houlihan) & half English, Tune & Hickson.
Lets raise a few Single Malts for St Andrew's Day.
Thomson Airlines Boeing 787-8 Captain David Reid (Peedy to his friends) is known to fly as Command Pilot in a kilt every St Andrew's Day. He's based in Manchester and I am currently helping to train his eldest son to fly the Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 for another major UK Carrier ... With whom he plans to seek approval to do the same as his father. Understandably the only insistence with Captain Reid is the shorts he wears underneath his kilt every year.
If bmiBaby Duty Flying Crews were allowed to carry out their duties wearing shorts before that Carrier ceased operations I don't see what objections there are over this special request ...
