Thread: Official Me 262 'Schwalbe' Painting Thread

Default Official Me 262 'Schwalbe' Painting Thread

These ones were a real great love from the start. The jets!
AIM 1/200 models painted in a generic scheme with authentic Pactra colours: RLM 82/83/76, airbrushed. The pattern is custom, a kinda free hand.
The individual markings are fantasy. Some of them were taken from tank models (sorry), but they fit quite right. Mehusla's decals (crosses) are top notch.

The brighter pictures were taken outdoors in a bright light, so you can see the difference in saturation. It is natural effect.

The Ace with 100 victories ().

Karl & I were working on jets for WWII, in particular the Me262. It needs a larger card for the speed, and I'm still working on manoeuvrability, but it shouldn't be too difficult. Watch this space... Actually not this space, but somewhere.

As Steve said, we are discussing rules. With the holiday madness, I won't promise how fast.

Always have liked the Schwalbe, Andy - I have one from AIM myself, and I was just looking around for color schemes...

Yours look beautiful, and the Panzer divisional insignias, as you say, work nicely! I can't decide if I want to do the splinter pattern or try one of the speckled versions...

Thanks for sharing your lovely foursome

    All the best,
    Matt

Very pretty, Sven! I love the mix of solid and splatter on your Schwalben

I must get going on my little birdie in the near future - then I'll need to get a B-17 for him to shoot down...

A pair of intimidating looking aircraft. I like the subtle difference in livery. Enough to aid tabletop identification yet they still look great together.

I know I can't compete with the outstanding paint jobs shown here by truly talented people.
I think these guys are real artists.

But I didn't want to hold back my first paint job from you.
I got my models from Shapeways (Kampfflieger).
Since I didn't know how they would come out, I ordered the lowest quality / lesser detailed version (White Strong & Flexible).
I need those models for play so the outcome is good enough for my purpose

P.S.: I know one of the bases is the wrong way around Didn't you know that the "Schwalbe" had a reverse gear?

I know the feeling, Sascha. It is easy to get cold feet when you see what the members pruduce here.
But you got nothing to be ashamed of. These are just wonderful

    Keep 'em coming Sascha.
