Mission German bomb run on unidentified strategic target
A single Hanover was tasked with bombing a unidentified but thought to be strategically valuable target.
The pilot unknown flying at altitude using cloud cover entered the allied lines and progressed towards the target.
A lone camel flown by wing commander Kyte is on the hunt for an easy prey.
The camel soon spots and catches up with the Hanover
Some smart manouvering means the Kyte overshoots his prey
A well timed Immelmann brings the Hanover head on with the camel of Kyte who had also performed an Immelmann.
With both aircraft in the clouds it was time to "bite the bullets"
With some deadly fire and smart escaping manoeuvres the Hanover indicts serious damage on the camel.
Still being chased by the damage Camel the Hanover is unable to loose altitude to complete the bombing run
Still dogged by the Camel the Hanover chances his luck with archie and heads for the border
As the Hanover escapes off the target area the observer manages to inflict more damage to the camel of kite.
The Camel goes into a dive wrapped in flames is this the end of Wing Commander Kyte.
NO the lucky Kyte crashes into a rather large dung heap and is thrown clear
Damage score to Kytes Camel
Post script Wing Co Kyte is out of action for a few weeks not through injury but due to the fact that no one will go near him until he has taken three showers a day for two weeks.also a certain young MR Wheatcroft has named a rose after the event he has called it "Kytes Crapula"
