When people game in public, like at the local game store. Do they usually use miniature models?
If there is a local tournament, does it usually require miniatures?

At my local game store and club most people use mini's. But I've a had a few games in which we only used the cards. There is a poll on the forum that gives the break down of responses to if people use cards, mini's or a mixture.
I only know that the local tournament that my son and i have entered is using mini's.
Cheers, Aled
Hi Bryan - I've seen a few demo games at shows & they've all used minis - that's what sold me on the game in the end - but there are those that prefer to use the cards.
It must be cheaper, have great aircraft availability & easier storage !!

MIni's at the game store, except when we've flown against the Bombers in the new FOTG boxed set. We sued cards vs. cards (but only because we have no Minis for the bombers). Haven't played in any tournaments, so no comment on that aspect.
I've only seen minis at conventions. That's what usually draws people in.
We always play with minis. At the store, it really pulls people in, and wherever we play, they just look great.
The usual group of ne'er do wells play every sunday in an bar in Portland OR, Katie O'Brien's, and we always use miniatures. We've had a couple of folks join the group because of the visual appeal of the game.
