Edit the thread; you should be able to change the title. You might need to go advanced, though.
Nice work, though Something for Bolt-action, or a different game?

Thanks a lot for kind advice!

Nice looking bunch. Want to spread out into this area and might plump for Chindits & Japanese. Very small scale.

Still on the go is Project HPV/K2 although one of the two is looking far more SR.2 as of this month. Abandoned the RAF Hemp / Light Grey colours due to cheap and nasty Humbrol (gloss regardless of what it says on the tin!) Acrylics not being up to it unlike superior quality Revell Acrylics: Both Handley Page Victors now to carry RAF North European cammo with white undersides. Latest photos below:

So I've rolled my Shapeways models from October over into November - they're all primed in grey and waiting for PC10 and CDL and all sorts of other colors...

And the Red Baron bust is still in the works - I'll post some in-progress pics in the near future.

And there are more counter boxes in the mix...whoo-hooo!

    All the best,
    Matt

I'm hoping to get test prints for my new A.E.G. Shapeways planes, a prototype section to join two halves of a 1/288 Zeppelin, and I'm starting on a Brandenburg G.I model. Painting? Hahaha. Maybe when I'm retired? (They might perfect full-color 3D prints before I ever get out the paintbrushes.)

    Barney,

I meant to say something sooner...I'm not sure my Siemens-Schuckerts are going to be able to keep up with your Victors and shoot them down...

Those V-planes look rather spiffing, don't you know!?

I had a spare Albatros at the back of the workbench for the last 6 months. It only got painted when I was using a paint on something else that it needed as well. It finally got to a stage when only decals were needed and I had some Aviation wing decals I wanted to try.

Here's Albatros D III flown by Gerhard Bassenge, Jasta 2, summer 1917.

Decided on an all white Felixstowe, the Great White Armed Albatross . . . just out of the paint booth, all nice and fresh!

And someone said there is a painting contest on so we begin a new project . . .

Hi Matt, hope you are well. Project HPV/K2 continues to make ultra-slow progress through the current bi-polar disorder related fog which is my mind at the moment ... However the topsides are now complete (Victor SR.2) and requiring one final sanding down (Victor K.2) before we attempt anything to do with the white underside! May have to leave that until I am feeling better as there are some extremely fiddly aspects to this not to mention that it's bright white of course!

There as been a bit of a victory on the decals-front too - down has come the price from in excess of GBP Ł25.00 to GBP Ł12.50 using Xtradecals - some sized carefully from a 1/72 set they currently produce featuring both types of RAF Roundel required. The SR.2 only ever operated with red/white/blue Type 4s when in service with 543 Squadron at RAF Wyton.

I've been running FFG's Star Wars Edge of the Empire & Force and Destiny rpgs about three Fridays every month, so most of my spare time is going into adventure design to keep the players on their toes.

For that price, I could make up a dozen sets, individual serials, "no step" marks, ejector seat triangles etc. The only things I have difficulty with are white markings - those I have to do in silhouette.

For your next project - contact me beforehand, and I'll send you some.

Zoe those look fantastic! Tiny II would look great as a ficticious nose art upon one of these Victors - the SR.2 is the most likely candidate as the lesser-known of the two versions.

However topside we are looking great ... It's the underside of the K.2 which I have yet to figure out! They are known as Formation Markings ...

Since November marks the anniversary of Talvisotta (Finnish Winter War against Soviet aggression) of 1939, there could not bea better month to finally complete the group of Brewster Buffalos and Bristol Blenheims Mk I. This weekend they should be ready to defend the skies over northern snowy landscape. Minis and decals (to be applied) provided by AIM.

As you can see my little goblins try to match the speed of some famous elves...

Since I didn't quite get this finished for the bomber contest, it's safe to post a picture here of the work in progress. It's an HBM 1/200 Dornier 217 with its first coat of paint. It will eventually have the light blue 'squiggle' pattern over the green splinter camo, and you can see the two Fritz-X missles on the base. They will be glued onto scratch-built pylons under the wings (between the engine and fuselage) - the missles arrived Thursday from AIM (along with some other tasty bits!!).

This has been fun to work on and paint - quite the nice little model. I'm tempted to get another from AIM in resin and do up a version with HS-239s...or perhaps I'll get their He-177 and put the Henschel missles on it...

ANYWAY - my first kits from the Dark Side - I'm sure there will be more...

    All the best,

Sorry you didn't get to finish on time.

My own entry - let's just say it's a plane that has been described as "the greyhound", and in active service with the Luftwaffe in 1944. Mainly used as a high-level night bomber, but also used in the low level interdiction/strike role against enemy bridges and armoured columns.

This Noveber my little goblins are in a hurry. Not only Santa is closing from the north, but our member Sven is going to visit my place at the very same weekend in December! Thus orders were issued to close all the open projects ASAP!
Here you can see my already painted and gimbaled Finnish Air Group of Brewster and Blenheims with decals by AIM.

You know: The winter is coming.

More will soon be posted in Hobby/Painting Showcase.
