There were no traders with planes (or ships) sale apart from the guys at Red Eagle selling off some early WoW planes at £20 a time (worth it for the two SE5a's possibly not for the camels and Albatrosses. However the eagles eyed amongst us spotted certain boxes being displayed at the very busy bring and buy - and hey presto mint in box Adolf Galland 109 for £6, ironically it was here last year that I snaffled one for a fiver - inflation is cruel, lol

Very happy with the result (again !)

    Just received the following

    Hi Chris

A very big thanks to you and your team for presenting ‘Sails of Glory’ at Hammerhead 2016. The time, effort and thought that had obviously gone into presenting the games this year was clear to all in attendance. Although three games received awards every game deserved praise and recognition. The standard was so high, both in terms of visual appeal and playability that the Forest Outlaws judges had a very difficult task on their hands in choosing just three games out of the 53 present! The participation games are the most important feature of Hammerhead, and it was wonderful to see so many gamers having the opportunity to experience such a fantastic variety of different games in one day!

Many thanks again for supporting Hammerhead 2016. We have already received lots of very positive feedback from visitors, traders and those presenting the games. We will be publishing a show report shortly.

The date for Hammerhead 2017 is Saturday 4th March, I will start making preparations over the next few weeks!

Any feedback and suggestions would be most welcome and very helpful.
    Many thanks
    Kind regards

    Sally

Saturday 4th March 2017 ... Count us both in too

Gather from the postings since that no trophies were retained from last year?

The only thing I will urge is that we retain the WGF / WGS / S***s format to give each game equal exposure. Outings for WGS are not all that common however I understand that this is often down to accommodation / number of tables allocated.

Its not all about winning trophies, to me its about showing the game in a positive light and providing an occasion where players new and old can wile away a couple of hours.
It is nice when your efforts are deemed worthy of a special thank you, but its sharing the event with friends and newcomers that is why I return time after time.
Hope we can have 3 tables again as its good to showcase all 3 variants, but it does require a lot of support, which doesn't half stretch the fuel tanks of some folks. Always amazes me just how far some chaps travel to help with these events.

Thanks to you all - you know who you are.

I know I was just wondering out of interest because we had to leave before the show announced the winners at 3 PM. I think we showed all three games as well as the Aerodrome in a very positive light - we all did very well. I am aiming to support more events this year but without going into burnout mode ... Unfortunately the one right on our doorstep clashes with Doncaster this year!

Through the Helmut-Cam: "Hammerhead @ Newark - WGF Table" Game #1 - Balloon Busting!

Five of my Nieuport 16 rocket-firers, attacking two balloons.
Five Albatros DVa from Jasta 18 defending.

Note - the French turned down the offer of escort fighters; the defenders therefore ignored their own AA guns.................

Let us continue to be victims of our own success in this way then Sir ... As Hammerhead 2016 was good humoured and a crackin' day out. Especially if one happens to be called Marion!

Shows how far she has come in a year - we could even have a new Deadly M in our midst ...

I see that you already sport the Minor Con Medal Simon, which I did not know, so we can't duplicate that one I'm afraid. However if you send me your address by PM I'm sure that we can sort your young Wingman out with something.

Sir, fantastic report and insight into the WGS activity at Hammerhead 2016. You have taken some great photos but the one of Marion is by far the best. Nice take of me in Photo 2 not looking fat like I normally tend to!

When the official show photos are released I wonder who will feature in them this time around? As far as I am aware the Show Organisers still have to release their show report and official photos ...
