Great pictures of an obviously fun time - as someone else said, Rob, good show in letting the big cheese win two of three!

The Siemens is a handy little plane to fly, but then so are the Camel and Nieuport (glad it was up-gunned...)

    All the best,
    Matt

Was going to compliment your photographer and clarify tea or coffee, but you answered both in one note.
If the coffee was up to the same standard as the photos then it must have been a great cup of java,
Obvious you had a great time at the table.

Well, I'm just now getting caught up on my personal list after my trip. I'd like to start off by saying it was great seeing my friends from the past Lend-Leases again as well as meeting some great online friends for the first time in the flesh!

I would also like to give a very special thanks to Eileen and Rob for being wonderful hosts and welcoming me in to their home. They are also great tour guides! (Kyte definitely has a job lined up after the war is over!) A special thanks is also due to Steve (Guntruck) for meeting me at 0 Dark Thirty at the airport and showing my around London and the RAF museum for the rest of the day.

Rob and I have been internet friends for about 6 years now and it was a dream come to to finally get to play some games with him. And since these games against Rob were the first ones I have played since Origins back in June of this year, they were extra special to me.

Before posting some of my photos of the games, I'd like to point out that Rob picked our aircraft on my suggestion that he fly for the Entente and my self for the Central Power. I had never actually flown the SSD.III so was really looking forward to it. Through out the first game I was trying to keep from getting on the right side of FO Kyte as I just assumed that he was flying a Camel against the SSD.III. It was not until the end of the game that I realized he was flying a N.17 I of course had to suggest to him to fly a more capable machine. Like a true British Officer, he maintained his stiff upper lip and kept flying the N.17. And a very fine job he did too!

    The ill fated collision

    A Hun on fire

Flying him self into a corner

Curse you jammed guns!! Having operational guns on this sequence of maneuvers might have drastically changed the outcome of the final match

Trailing smoke, he circles in for the kill

This was such a memorable trip for me and the three games against Rob will always be special one to me. I want to again thank everyone involved for making this such a great trip!

I really like the 'extra' or 'critical' damage cards here, Rob - are these something you came up with, and are they available perhaps as a file to download? They seem to add so much more flavor to the narrative.

Great to see Keith's memories of the games are dovetailing with yours! Not that I'd expect otherwise...

    All the best,
    Matt

When we get on a bit further with our Solo AARs you will also see his personal Camel too.
