Neil I had no problem with the flight deck. Needs to be painted before putting the halves together. Also like your TULL reference.

David Pink Floyd is the best for me. I don't know how many copies,,,8 track/cassette/record/cd... I have of Dark Side of the Moon. Saw a PF tribute band and they were fantastic. If you like Led Zeppelin if you see a tribute bad named Get The Led Out go and see them.

    Forgot to mention Frank Zappa.

We got the resin order done! Thanks elves!

The Naval elves have been making mold plugs for the IJN Destroyer project, next they need to make molds!

Flying elves have been getting the FAC Squadron up and ready for next month, got the CO2 engine fired up too!

Next up the Moth gets assembled!

Onward! Upward! On course and climbing!

Looking good Clipper. Have your flying elves tried working with Depron? I'm tempted to give it a try on a D.VIII rc scratch build. Any tips from the master are always appreciated .

Bases are 40mm wide, to give an idea of scale.

In the UK, they're available via the National Elf Service.

Looking great David - except the elves need to paint another letter on that G-FLY registration to make it authentic. BTW is that a Piper Cub or a Taylorcraft Auster with G-FLY registration please?

Also like the look of the resin aircraft line-up you have there especially the SB2C Helldivers / Short Sunderlands

  12. #62

Yeah, the G-FLY is a semi scale De Havilland puss moth vintage 1936 free flight model and the letters are spurious at best. Flying Aces has a near scale event to encourage the duration side of the scoring. It will easily fly the maximum flight duration of 2 minutes so it is a fun flier indeed.

DH.80A - 3 Seater of which 284 were built. Like the Piper L-4 Cub and Taylorcraft Auster it's a high-wing monoplane but can carry one more person

Very impressive - please could we have some photos when she flies?

Will do. I am a BIG De Havilland fan, I had a smaller one, 24" wing span that nearly flew away and a DH Beaver 13" model that went out of sight directly overhead, never to be seen again! So far none of my minis have done that- yet!

It would not be the first time that Elves had left the building clandestinely John.

On my work bench is a AEG G.IV using a new product on the market. Aviattic Lozenge - http://www.aviattic.co.uk/1144-decals.html

Richard and his team make the most accurate lozenge decals on the market and spend years getting them just right. They work with real WWI fabrics to achieve some stunning effects at 1:32 scale and have now started looking at the 1:144 scale scene. Due to the cost of the projects he really can only develop these if there is interest. Once I have the AEG finished I will post a review of the product.

Also I have a Macchi M.5 on the bench which is being painted up in US- Italian Naval colours scheme and finally I have a new Wingnut Wings 1:32 scale project on the table which is probably looking at a time scale of about 6 months to complete depending on how the handing painted finish pans out.

They have been in direct contact with us, mostly Boney10 and myself.
They saw us at Thornbury last year, and went off to have a think about 1/144 scale lozenges, then came back to Thornbury this year armed with samples! They inspected my display planes (and had a look at the game itself) and they're keeping in touch regarding developments!

That's good to hear, I do a lot of work with Richard with the 1:32 scale products that they make and I have to say they are incredible - you can actually see the linen fabric on the decal sheets. with the 1:144 scale sheets at first they seem a little off, but once applied over the wing and fuselage they really come to life.

Love the 'night' decals, James and Tim - good to see them available. That looks like a rather sizable sheet in the picture...

I guess I'll have to get something to use them on before I spring for some of the decals.

    All the best,
    Matt

Those decals look good. I have a couple of AEG's that need finishing so will give them a try

They are hefty resin for 20mm WW2, I don't know the manufacturer as they were a gift some years ago and only now have I got to paint them.

The main rooves and floors are removable and I went for a stone build rather than brick.

Should be good for skirmishing round !

Dave you've tweaked my interest with your buildings. Mate of mine had those way back in Germany and many a happy Coy level games was had using them and the multitude of other buildings from the range. Wish I could remember the manufacturer too.

Trying to pluck up the courage to start on a box of Valom SE5as, or decide to chuck it in and get some Shapeways ones.
    Two Zvezda SB2s, & a C-47, these will be much easier ;-)
A Shapeways Felixstowe, though painting dazzle pattern will be fun.
After this weekend, various more Shapeways planes, once I decide if to get the WWII bits in FUD or not.
