Default Der große Käse General Inspection to UK

Oberst Hajj is paying a visit to the UK next month and will be flying in at sparrow's fart on Thursday the 8th. I'm taking Keith on a tour of inspection around London, then moving on to the RAF Museum in the afto. While we will be a bit of a moving target in the morning, anyone in the London area is more than welcome to join us at the museum and say hello.

For recognition purposes I shall be wearing an aviation-related T-shirt, so if you can come along PM me for my mobile number, or just look out for a fat bloke in an airplane Tee and a thin bloke who speaks the Queen's English with a funny accent. Hope you can make it.

Later that evening I shall be decanting Keith on to a train to Nottingham so he can see how the other half live.

The 8th may be a bit premature Chris. The Oberst won't get into the station until 10.20 in the evening if the train is on time.
I suggest a venue for Saturday be arranged nearer the date. We can discuss it at Doncaster.

OK chaps, for anyone who was thinking of hooking up with Keith and I at the RAF Museum, there has been a slight change of plan. Keith is now flying in at stupid o'clock on Friday and not Thursday, so we will be at Hendon Friday afto.

Now I've got to go and re-organise the brass band, the Lord Mayor and the rest of the welcoming committee

Default The Eagle has landed. And taken off again.....

... and will shortly be landing again chez Kyte.

I think we gave a whole new definition to 'whistle-stop tour' today - Buck House, Admiralty Arch, Trafalgar Square, Horse Guards Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Tower of London by 10 a.m., then RAF Museum followed by Imperial War Museum. Don't know about Keith, but I'm off to beddy-bye shortly.

So here's yer man standing at the same historic spot outside the RAF Museum, from where the Caproni World Tour was launched (he refused to put on a penguin outfit )

Wow. That was whistle stop. What you flying these days a tardis? A more leisurely pace today I hope. But I think Derby this afternoon to see the vulcan fly over. Other than that it's the WinCos show.

    Good morning readers.
Our Valiant Leader arrived at Nottingham station at 21.00 hrs last night. After an evening chatting, he retired much later than my Squadron Leader.
We are now awaiting the arrival of Squadron Leader and Mrs Skafloc, and tiptoeing around so as not to disturb the Oberst's slumbers.
    More on this later.
Photos of the day will follow.

Cracking day yesterday with Keith, Rob & Eileen. Lovely walk around a stately home and learned a bit more history which I didn't know about. Lovely weather. Stunning views across Derbyshire, spoilt at times by some noisey aircraft flying high above the clouds. Obviously more happy holiday makers on their way home!

    Pics to follow.

Also known as Upper Air Route UB1 south <-> north although UA34 east <-> west passes close by too!

Looks like a great day out with some fantastic photos taken. Just sorry that you never got to see the Vulcan - a corner was cut during it's return into Doncaster / Finningley overflying Mansfield instead of the M1 as indicated.
