Thread: Graf Zeppelin 1/200" Scale

  1. #1

    Default Graf Zeppelin 1/200" Scale

The sea elves came home with this, the final straw . . .

I found them pouring over the drawings inside . . .

Then the photos got some attention . . .

Then they came home with this from the copy shop . . .

Fancy a look inside the roll?

    She be a big one!

And who can resist a moment of play . . .

    Or two . . .

Now where did they put the pile of foam board? I wonder . . .

    Yeh, this should be good.
Any thoughts of adding the Weser (ex Seydlitz) as a escorting carrier?

. . . nature abhors a vacuum . . .an empty workbench is just as bad. I ran across this thread from 5 years ago, not sure what happened to it. Likely the hands gave out. So back at it then . . .

Dave, as another source of inspiration you might also look at the various 1/200 paper model ships from GPM, FlyModel, Halinski and various other ex-ComBloc (I wanna say mostly Polish, but there might be other countries-of-origin in the mix) for additional project inspiration. Back when I first joined here I was thinking about trying to adapt their 1/300 carriers to be sturdier as combined game-pieces/carry cases... sorta like how I was looking at stretching you and Thorsten's Type P engineering into a Type Q, adding a "break-in-half" at the midpoint and running a hollow box-girder down the middle of the mess as a storage bay.

Clipper, how resilient are the stickers? Do they lift off over time or if subjected to heat (it can get to 40 degrees plus) in the summer time here.

Hey Wayne, I have used this for over 10 years to print stickers, insignia, lozenge, you name it, works here in the AZ where we have been 45C for 50 days now. They do great service.
