Herr Von Biggles Downunder does it again.

Last I really should have stayed at home. Coughing and spluttering is not nice to take to someones house. At least that is my excuse

Doug and I (Boris and Ivan) in two YAk1's versus Von Biggles in an HE111, and Mark covering him in his 109. After carefully reading the forum and synchronizing our attacks from both sides we though we would kill this Biggles pest before he hit our Smirnoff factory.

Well first I misjudged my pass and instead of hitting him at half a ruler from the front left I ended up on his left quarter and copped 3 A damage cards for my error without replying. Doug meanwhile had copped a spray from Mark and was out of position. I circled for a shot but misjudged the 111's speed so was still in range. The result of that was I ended at 1 ruler length on his 5 oclock. Again I copped 3 A's although I did give him a C in return. Meanwhile both Doug and Mark his 109 adversary were well out of range. Two of my hits were cannot turn right and engine damage which meant only slow maneuvers either straight or to the left. The 111 commenced a slow turn to the left to come in for another bombing run on our national treasure and like a goat on a tether I followed him exchanging 2 or 3 A hits from him for one C for several moves until he killed me with 18 damage points. The only good thing from the communist point of view was that my peskiness might have distracted him long enough to misjudge his attack on our factory which he missed with his bombs. I did get excited at one point because my canon fire resulted in a crew hit. The only crew member killed was the front gunner, and he had not fired a shot!

Finally, Boris shook off his 109 attacker and commended a stern chase getting much the same treatment as I received. He died too, and the enemy planes lived to return home. The He111 did have 29 hit points though.

I guess the lesson learned for 111 killing is to have patience. If you make an error, then haul off and go around again. Do not compound your mistake by settling for an unfavorable exchange of fire. It is nice to hit your adversary but remember he can usually hit you with 2 or even 3 guns in a stern chase. But I guess you my readers already knew this, which is why there are some excellent posts on this forum. From this day forward Vodka is rationed. это жизнь

Too bad Baxter. I still got my supply of vodka. It seems von Biggles bombs must have hit the cake factory next door, because my vodka now tastes like cake and Marie Antoinette is no longer around.
Nice report with expected results when taking on any bomber with any kind of escort.
