Thread: That mighty Biggles

    Default That mighty Biggles

We flew our first WW2 mission last night as a group. Biggles Downunder aka Wayne and his wingman Mark had a 109 and a Ju87 each. Doug and myself had a Spit and a Hurricane each. There were two target cards.

Things did not go well for the Germans with both Stukas being shot down before dropping their bombs. One of the 109's quickly followed although all RAF planes took hits., and one had a wounded pilot. That left Biggles in his 109 facing 4 determined defenders of the realm. Was all lost? Would the world be in mourning?? Nope!

Showing his cunning mastery of the air Biggles proceeded to shoot down all four of his antagonists! What can I say except that with Biggles on your side all things are possible

Well done and thank you for starting this thread. This looks and sounds like an excellent game: Congratulations Wayne (Biggles Downunder) for chalking up that many 'kills' to your credit

I wonder if other combatants had their fictional heroes like Biggles.

Thank you for the brief AAR, Gary it sounded like a good game.

If you want other fictional heroes, there were Battler Britton and Matt Braddock in British comics and Blackhawk in DC comics in the USA.

    Totally forgot about Blackhawk.
Probably have one or two in the basement collection ... (along with the rest of my "1960s Retirement Fund")
