Default Airman David Gordon reporting for duty

    Hi All,

Another green recruit reporting from The airfields of Kent, at Rochester aerodrome.

I've played a game of WW1 WoW but very interested in WW2. Just bought a load if Wings of Glory/War Messerschmitts and Spitfires from ebay and planning to have a battle of Britain refight at my local wargames club. Just looking for printable gaming matts and will use cotton wool for clouds. Also keen to meet like minded air chaps.

    David

Bienvenue David from Brittany. Wing Com Rob (FO Kyte) will no doubt be in contact with you to fill you in on whats available for you in the South East. Meanwhile take a stroll around the site and pull up a chair in the Officers Mess.

Hi David - welcome to the 'drome from here in Tunbridge Wells. If you ever fancy a game and can get down here on a first or third Sunday drop me a PM - several forum members meet up at the Tunbridge Wells Wargames Soc. meetings and we often have a WW1 WoG game. The next one planned is a large game when the new giants arrive.

Welcome to the Aerodrome David from Derbyshire. Also playing WW2 - it's great to have you on board.

Congratulations by the way on your spectacular find re: Spitfires and Messerschmitt Bf.109s on E-Bay. I have all three Wings of War Spitfire Mk I / Spitfire Mk IIs myself but only one Me Bf.109E which I have preserved and is not used for gaming (it is unboxed anyway.)

    Cheers

Best Wishes for a speedy and a safe recovery. Please may we have a photograph or two on here of your recent Messerschmitt / Spitfire Wings of War find as that really was a spectacular stroke of luck

Just checked and it looks like the offers are all gone. Sorry chaps if you missed that one. Still waiting for my spits and 109s arrive hope they havent gone the same way as flight 19 or decided to have a dogfight enroute.

When i was 7 my Dad bought me and ME109 and spitfire that had a battery operates propeller. I played with them for hours. My Dad told me of a dogfight he witnessed over hampshire when he was about 3 or 4.

Well - if it was Aprils Fools it would be funny. Thank you chaps for not pointing out my obvious mistake. Being new to this game I didn't realise that the squadron packs did not include models - they just have the cards! :-) What a plonker I feel. So I'm on the hunt for ME 109s. So I've not bought a bargain.

    Tough luck there, old chap.
Never mind - now you have the plane cards, buy some of the Oberst's bases, a bag of flight pegs and a few AIM Spits and 109s and paint up your own squadrons!

    Sound advice Tim!
I can recommend the AIM aircraft & decals as Top Quality having got Dauntless, Avengers, Lilys & Kates from them

yes they do the only real difference being different firing arcs for multiseaters. the important thing is that theyre the size of original bases for maneuvering purposes.

I hear you there, David. Despite my collection waiting to be re-painted
In this case, check out the 1/144 sub-forum. Lots of stuff there.
