Thanks for the update Pete.
Many people will be disappointed I'm sure.

Does this mean that Wings of Glory will be remaining Analogue? The game will be staying as we have grown to know and love it ...
To the bar ... My round this time if so
Obviously you are not one of the disappointed Barney.
However, I was never one to refuse a free drink, so cheers old chap.

A Brandy for me, if you please.............
Hopefully with the electrification project cancelled for now this will allow ARES to get their act together concerning the up and coming new WW2 / WGS releases as well as these ever-promised BoB / Pacific reprints of theirs instead.
Drinks on me in a subtle manner and not a heavy handed proper Luddite approach to this news - due to the many who will be disappointed at this news which I can now understand far better since my recent discovery of electronic Chess. Although this development did not successfully change my Luddite ways over Wings of Glory staying Analogue it did broaden my understandings as to why an electrified version would be popular. Broadened my appreciation of the same subject too so ... A less heavy handed response is what I greet this news with ... Even if it is the best thing I have heard all day!

David, you are strongly encouraging me to take up more WW1 / WGF playing
It's the same with real flying - there are some things which despite the extensive electrification of the average modern day cockpit just cannot be flown using automation alone. My favourite example as it applies to the bigger aircraft just as much as it does to the smaller is an air show flying display: All flown using stick and rudder being so close to the ground with a bare minimum of automated systems purely there to assist in maintaining safety standards.
I have never seen this done properly in real life - just through photos and threads on the Aerodrome.
Wouldn't this be considered as traditional magnetism though - whereas electromagnetic pulse is something different? Otherwise the electrification of Wings of War / Glory would already be considered as under way and not such a hot topic for discussion like it has been. I have to say that I do admire those who successfully use magnets to attach to stands. Ingenious way of avoiding altitude peg snaps or worse if the attachment peg on a was to snap instead ...
