Default _7: The Defence of Lwow_ Arrived...

...and how do I go about getting the Polish Institute of National Memory to make my board games for me? Because this thing is *exquisite*. The mapsheet is on cardboard nearly 1/8" thick. The counters are also substantial, and well marked. Hell, the d6 is wood, as are the markers used to indicate unit preparation status. And they managed to fit three rulebooks inside (Polish; Lithuanian; English) to boot. The rules are simple without being argument-inducing; I played a solo game within an hour. I can see room to expand this to allow for more units.

The one problem so far: Now I have to get _111_ and _303_, as well....

Chris. It IS a challenging game and I hope you will like it. The story of American volunteers is so moving for everybody here. I wish the story would be a common knowledge. And yes, the quality of components is a big pro. Enjoy!
BTW the third language is Ukrainian.

Any pictures available of what the game entails Andy?

Got mine yesterday too. I couldn't agree more! Arrived quickly from Poland to the US - and only $14 plus $9 shipping - amazing.

This little game has so much heart. It's a stirring story of which I was totally unaware. Thanks again to Andy for the heads-up.

Not really -- the exchange rate is 3.77 zloty to the dollar right now.

For those of you chaps interested in the game, here are some shots of the contents:

    The board and it's thickness:

A setup demo game in progress. The black (inverted) counters are the disrupted cavalry units after attack of Ansaldo Balillas. The black wooden cubes mark the ground units preparing to perform an AA fire.

A close up on counters and the wooden dice with symbols: chequers - succesful aircraft attack, red star - missed, plane's damage - self explanatory.

The rulebook in fullcolor (ENG - PL -UA versions) with the war story, pilots' biographies and planes' descriptions.

In game's aspect it is a surprisingly deep filler game taking 20 minutes' time. It's educational aspect is priceless.

    Enjoy,
    Andy.

Here's a link to the Marketplace listing on BGG: 7: The Defense of Lwow. It's still $14 for the game, but Tommy's raised the shipping cost from $9 to $14 since he sent mine. Still totally worth it.

Thanks for the pictures of the contents Andy.
It looks worth the money just for the Rule Books.

    Thumbs up

The rule book alone is worth the price!

I have very good experience with 303 Battle of Britain, published by the same Institute. So, I expect this one to be very interesting game, too.
