Default Announcing a loosely WoG related boardgame

In fact it is not that game mechanic, but a post WWI airwar related boardgame published recently by our Instutute of National Memory, a state agency doing really well in the field of education through fun and gaming. "303" the boardgame is a shining example.

This time we are going to fly Oeffags D.III and Ansaldo Balillas (just thick cardboard counters) trying to stop the advancing hordes of red cavalry in 1920.
Some of you may have noticed my interest in ground attack missions in WGF and WGS and now we are given a short filler game for 15-20 minutes break. Easy and fun to play, but quite demanding for the American-Polish aviators.
Please note the thrilingual edition of the game..
The booklet is printed in full colour with great historical part including biographies of the famous pilots involved (Merian C.Cooper, Cedric Fauntleroy and others).
Played twice yesterday with my buddy - the defenders lost two times - plagued rather by engines malefuntion than ground fire.

If it isn't electronic, doesn't run around the board on wheels and doesn't cost a fortune, I'm not interested!

Yes, that is definitely not your cup of tea Steve.

This looks interesting - I can see how it relates to WGF. I would definitely still play a game like this alongside of playing Glory. More of a traditional board game as opposed to being a case of detailed Minis just like Risk or Diplomacy both are.

    Thank you for posting

Thanks for posting this Andrzej. For those who are interested, here's a link to the game's page on BoardgameGeek: 7 on BGG. Not much there yet as it's a new game, but if you scroll down to the files section you'll see the designer's uploaded the entire English rulebook (linked here: 7 English rulebook). You're right, it's very well-produced and informative. Here's a link to the counter art: 7 counter art.

I continue to be impressed with the "hybrid wargames" coming out of Poland, Andrzej. This one (like 303 and 111 before it) is more like a traditional hex and counter game than the excellent 7 Days of Westerplatte. The artwork and design elegance appear to be consistently top notch. As you've said, like its predecessors it's a light game, though it looks like 7 has a few interesting wrinkles in that it covers the immediate post-WWI period, has a few optional advanced rules, and may be the only game ever to focus on planes vs. mounted cavalry!

Thanks Bill you are very kind. I too see the growing market and interest in boardgaming here and especially among people I meet and spread the good news. But this one is very special, for not everybody is aware of the story and brotherhood and devotion that took place in 1920 between American volunteers and Polish flyers facing their common enemy. Just Hommage!

Go to the Marketplace section of the BGG page. There's a guy selling them for $14 + $9 shipping to North America.
