"Hey, Heinrich, my wife told me you bought a new car. So what you have in your garage now?"
"A new Volkswagen, Kurt. And you?"
"Just some old crap. I think it names Panther or something like that. Gradpa was driving him during '40."

If Opa was driving him in '40 we'd really have been in the deep brown and smelly
What an awesome beast though - think the German engineers would have to go some to damage it getting it out of the basement - though they might have damaged the basement !
Hope it ends up with a museum & they get it running, it looks like a model G.

How big is this bloke's basement [/QUOTE]

Don't know Steve? But I'm off to have a look in mine right now.
Result- two spiders, one dead, and an out of date bottle of beer.

You know, if it took 20 men and two ARVs to get the thing out of his basement, I really have to side with him in saying that it wasn't really a danger to anyone.

Hope he gets it back, and the '88. Seems like government theft otherwise

When you have a Panther, creating of a basement in any building is matter of minutes and caliber of the main gun

I hope his lawyer sues the pants off them.
Its not like he was likely to use them to start WW3.

A little bit mistrusting in the government is always refreshing.

Be shure the police offficers will check it.

If the tank is not demilitarized it's a case of the Kriegswaffenkontrollgesetz. So it's property of the government now.

If it's demilitarized, the former owner has to proove how he get in posession of the tank.

The basement of my house is too small for the Panther, but I can remove the roof and install the 88 on the top.

Given what we found in my Grandfather's attic after he passed, I'm sure there would have been an '88 if he could have gotten it back from Normandy

Look like they were well taken care of. Wonder if he used to pop down on a Sunday morning with a bottle of Turtle Wax to buff them up

My gaming buddy Darek is a Tiger Tank fan and lover and could talk about Saving Private Ryan final scenes for hours. Must check his basement now...

OMG to have a rifle would be something but a Panther (Pzkw V) and an 88 in your basement. WOW Both look to be in mint condition. What a find.
