More super pics Pete.
I love the way they have set up the displays with pilots & aircrew.
I think that's one of the things that set the AF Museum apart from others - they put mannequins into realistic setting around the planes to 'humanize' the aircraft - particularly with the WW2 collection. The B-25 on the carrier deck and the Hurricane with the pilot 'relaxing' in the wicker chair are two great vignettes.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your pictures, Pete!
All the best,
Matt
I had the pleasure to visit this museum during my Lend Lease 2014.
Unfortunately I had only a half day time, but this museum is a good reason to visit Ohio again one day...
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Those are stupendous photos Pete, and that Shark Mouth close up at that three quarters head on angle is just what I needed to complete my latest aircraft, so an extra thanks for that.

More great photographs, Pete!
Looking through your fantastic photos I spotted it ... A museum with a full-size and fully intact Bristol Beaufighter in Preservation! I would LOVE to come and see this in the flesh!!!
Believe it or not there are no Bristol Beaufighters in such an immaculate state in the United Kingdom: However this situation is set to change over the next few years thanks to the restoration project which is working on a Beaufighter at the National Museum of Flight in East Fortune (North Berwick) Scotland. The Midland Air Museum in Coventry also has a Bristol Beaufighter cockpit / front section preserved and on display to the public.
Thanks Barney.
Well worth knowing.
I will squirrel that away for future reference.

I think that they were working on a Bristol Beaufighter at Duxford the last time I was there.
Let me check my AF museum pics; I might have a few different angles. I know they aren't great, though
Maybe put it on the list for the next Origins field trip

If Karl doesn't have any, Barnaby, I'm sure I could get some pics of the Beaufighter on my next visit, but my only camera is the one on my phone...and yet, it takes pretty good pictures. Let me know - I'll watch this space I was actually thinking of getting a couple of the WoGS models to paint up as US nightfighters in the Med once I slide to the Dark Side later this summer...
All the best,
Matt
Great photos!
The presentation of the planes is very well done.
It looks like good viewing room around the displays.
I was lucky enough to go to the Smithsonian Udvar Hazy Museum (DC) and it blew me away!
