Thread: Those Kiwi's at it again

Default Those Kiwi's at it again

Brother in law from New Zealand sent me these, though he has no interest in aircraft it does make you wonder what they are doing over there. As the name suggests classic aircraft and classic photography

With a population of 4 million in NZ they seem to pull above their weight in classic aircraft.

Yes indeed Andrew, they are certainly churning them out at a rapid rate of knots.
Great set of photos. Please thank your brother in law for sending them.

    Thumbs up

They sure do & it helps having sir Peter Jackson to help bankroll them but he is an absolute fan of WW1 aircraft.

The Military Aviation Museum has acquired some of their aircraft from New Zealand. I would venture to guess that the Hurricane pictured in your post is one of them.

Having a multi millionaire with an interest does no harm - if I'd dropped the Ł93 million on the euro lottery I'd probably be doing the same but over here !

    Me.262 is a rarity even here in Europe, but...three (!?!) Se.5a? Outstanding!

Lovely pictures of some very beautiful aircraft. Unfortunately, those pictures are the gateway drug to videos of FE2Bs, Mosquitoes, and other aircraft. Those distracted me for quite some time. Thanks! Kevin

Oh yes - I must make sure to include the Omaka Aviation Heritage museum again on my itinerary for next year's visit!

Well Andrew, you've got a very considerate and cool brother-in-law, that's for sure.
I have always liked the look of the Avro Anson, but had never seen an inside-the-cockpit photo. Just what I expected ... a great trainer for twin-engine types.
    Thx for sharing.
