Gentleman, a video a few years old which includes a great artifact from our museum and some wonderful images from the scrapbook of a Lighter-Than-Air sailor in the US Navy in 1918. I ought to mention that in the time since the video was made, I learned of one inaccuracy - he was, indeed, fired upon by the enemy, but not while piloting an airship. He was also a qualified gunner-observer who apparently was wounded on an observation or meteorlogical mission (he was serving at the time as the yeoman to a meteorologist for the US Navy).
We still have the flight helmet featured in our WWI display here.
Enjoy!
