My first week in Holland
Six hours of darkness followed by light for eighteen hours. First night no curtains. Slept.very.little. There are no blinds in Holland.
Next morning a cup of coffee and off I went to buy curtains. It.got.slightly.better.
From my room I see trees. There are trees everywhere, lucky me. The birds don't fear people. Jackdaws, pigeons, blackbirds and ducks cross the city roads as if the city roads are theirs.
The entire Friday locked and waiting for the Internet experts to install it at home. Empty house and nothing to do. Getting crazy by the minute. I picked up my planes and transformed the empty bedroom floor into the misty channel.
In my cold rage the German pilots didn't stood a chance.
During that day nobody came for the Internet...
Saturday. Internet. A nice gentleman delivered me a box. Technicians?! You are the Technician my boy, as here in Holland there's no space for cry babies. Two hours deciphering instructions in Dutch. Frustration followed by an immense sense of success. Internet!!! Again connected to the Universe. I spent Sunday explaining a boardgame to my nephews through Skype. Thanks Science!
Joaquim signing out for now.
