Thread: Prague Summer Con 2016

    Hi everybody!

I'll be willing host one Con scenario,

    "Winter is coming..."

    settled during Winter War/Continuation War.

    PLAYERS
Given number of Finnish aces versus twice as many Soviet rookies and veterans (3 on 6, 4 on 8 etc.).

Each Ace is allowed to choose ability he will use during the game. Further more, each Ace is allowed to choose second ability when kills his 3rd Soviet. No further abilities are allowed on 6th, 9th etc.

    RESURRECTION RULES
Soviet players are allowed to resurrect after being shot.
After being shot for the first time each Soviet player is veteran, thus not being rookie no more.
If Soviet rookie leaves the field, no resurrection is allowed for him.
If Soviet veteran leaves the field, he is resurrected as rookie.

Finnish players are not allowed to resurrect.

    VICTORY:
Finns get 4 points for each rookie killed (or left the table) and 10 points for each veteran killed (or left the table).

Soviets get 15 points for each Finn killed, and 12 points for each Finn left the table (yes, this would allow Finns to calculate a bit).

Winner is the side which scores at least 4 points more. Otherwise it's a draw.

I have enough Finnish planes, and Andrzej kindly offered to help me with winter Soviets. Of course, any help from Czech home time would be appreciated

I add a timeline for the planes we can use.

Seems we'll see many mid war planes in action and many French ones to balance the early missions.
You are kind, Sven I like this list and it will be good for unofficial minis
Some time ago I did a special list for the Con Campaign. It contains of official minis and possible nations. Please, check it if it is OK

At least as for discussion or inspiration for others. I know decision comes much later, but I believe it's good to start thinking early

Thank you, Sven Of course, there are some limitations determined our thinking in blades of years. For example, there is a mini who was in service until January and another who was from June etc. But it is still a game and I hope it would work fine

OK, no problem in this moment. You are a veteran so you have some privileges (just joking, don't worry ).

    Sounds really good.
What about changing airplane together with changing the status to veteran?
    Let's say I-16 and Mig-3 -> Jak-1
    Just a suggestion.

Here is (at least, I hope) the last version of timetable. We discussed with Andrzej there is no special reason for superbig missions in 30+ players, when a common one would have about 14-18 players. So we replaced them with normal missions and, according to feedback from last year, we extended (beer)breaks. The start is still in 9:00 on Saturday. For Sunday there will be a start at 10:00.

    Perfect.

    I'll host the SoG mission on Friday 17:00 h - 18:30 h for 2 - 8 players.

On Sunday there's another possibility to play SoG in the "try a new game" block from 13:30 h - 15:00 h (or - 16:00 h depends on the time the German Wing has to leave)

I would not enlist for other GM jobs now - except you need me to fill a gap. All right?

I'll be glad to GM WW2 on Friday or Sunday, if possible, as I'm very willing to take part in the WW1 campaign. And I really miss Golden Mission on Saturday evening. Otherwise, plan is very good.

P.S. Andrzej, if others like it too, you could repeat tank busting scenario. Last year's was one of my favorites!

I will be ready to run it again, of course. If only community wants that. No pressure however.
If yes, please PM me your afterplay thoughts - what could be refined or change and I shall improve it.

Since Sven and me were extensively testing my Me 262 minis in combat against B-17s last Saturday, we finally came to a conclusion that we both could try to run an intercepting kind of scenario in Prague.
Although the Me 262 house maneuver rules&deck needs some tweaking, the general idea is to have automatically (AI) driven B-17s and two teams of players: Me 262 Interceptors and P-51 Escorts.

Dear friends, thank you for your kind words. It is really nice to know there are people who can help in time when someone needs it.

OK, let's back to work. It is several weeks from publishing Rules for Game Masters. Now there is a time for booking time slots like Nemanja already did. Please, if you are interested in gamemastering, write here a short preview about your mission ideas, may be even your prefered timeslot. I will add you to the list in the very first post of this thread.
    Thank you for your inputs

No problem, Joaquim. Do you write few setences about your idea here?

  36. #386

    Scenario 1

    When Aces Meet

During the Spanish Civil War duels were scheduled between Nationalist and Republican pilots.
One is so famous that it became legend.

In this recreation of such an event, players pick randomly a plane and an Ace ability over the skies of Madrid.

    Scenario 2

The Eye of the Storm - The Kindness of Strangers Campaign

Having my comrades playing a scenario of my ongoing solo campaign.
I would write an AAR after the Con.

    Battle of Britain
    Automatically moving bombers
    Me-109's
    Joachim's Squadron

    Scenario rules to follow.

Would that I could join you, lads and lasses! But alas, April is not a time for taking extended time off for American high school teachers!

I do SO look forward to your reports on events, though - it looks like there will be some lovely games, given what you've posted as scenarios so far!

Let me know if you need a special counters box as a prize for one of the events - perhaps I could at least participate that way from afar...

    All the best,
    Matt
