Yes, I use Ace Skills in my matches.
No, I don't like these as Ace Skills add an unwanted complexity to the game.
Sometimes I keep amused with those cards.
Uh, what? Ace Skills?
So, guys, I thought about the Incendiary Bullets Ability and ... I decided, at the moment, to skip this one from my very personal Ace Skills Revision. I think we can consider Incendiary Bullets as an option for a Scenario or an agreement before setting up a game.
While thinking about another Ability to replace this one, I recalled René Fonck's words about ... Balloon Busters: "I do not thus like to combat the enemy, and I prefer to leave it to the specialists of such attacks".
Indeed the few airmen who volunteered for anti-Drachen missions were regarded as something of a special breed, possessed of a combination of pyromania and latent death wish known as "balloon fever" ...
So I came with this card, indeed a case of true "balloon fever".

I am sure this could be a very nice add to the Abilities overview. I can see Willy Coppens or Giannino Ancillotto (next Ni.11 release) playing with this card.

That is an excellent idea to give an edge to those crazy balloon buster Aces.
I may well give this to my pilots if they make Ace status by downing balloons.

I will hold you to that !
Deliberating on the point that many skills are not necessarily ace skills but inherent abilities and the 'progression of skills' question I was thinking that a simple way to deal with this could be that an ordinary pilot could have a skill or skills cards that he could only use once per game until he becomes an ace when he selects one skill that he can use as normal ie once per turn or whatever. Not a perfect solution but might help with the stew you're brewing !

So guys, this project is nearly to its finale.
I very much liked Dave's (flash) imput to divide the abilities into their five categories of Manoeuvre, Evasion, Personal, Technical & Combat hence I added a few more abilities following the suggestions and ideas from many of you. Of course I added a few spices from my pantry. Now each ability category has four Ability Cards.
Here is the first category I am presenting to you. Basically it has a new one "Outmaneuver" being the other three as per the original Skills.

I use them in campaigns and to balance out scenarios.
