Default You can't get away from the Hun

Yesterday, I went to visit a friend of mine at Farringdon tube station LUL (I used to be in charge of the station in the 1980's) We went out for a coffee and walked passed a building which caught my eye, The Zeppelin Building,Attachment 163258 To my total surprise it had a plaque on the frontAttachment 163259 After some research I found out that Zeppelin L13Attachment 163261 commanded by Heinrich MathyAttachment 163262 (one of the great airship commanders of World War I), Had attacked the Farringdon area on the night of September 8th 1915 (used to be called Aldersgate) in central London, killing 22 people and causing great damage by fire, to the cost of £500,000 and I was standing on the very spot of the attack, spine-chilling

Thanks for sharing the pics, Drew. Very interesting, historical place of interest. Could you please post the address of the building?

Very emotive pictures Drew. You can resurrect them again when I get to Sept 8th in 100 years ago today. I bet I won't have anything half as good as that.

Very nice, history you can touch is always the best. May need to look this up myself sometime.
