Here's to all who fell and the few who returned. I had the honour of meeting one in 1995. He was 16 when he landed at Gallipoli with his father. They were both in the Manchester.

A brilliant story - so glad the sixth VC has been located and was not lost.
Well done the Lancashire Fusiliers

I just wish I was close enough to visit the exhibition before it is broken up
Thank you for your sacrifice Gentlemen

See you on the Dark Side......
When I read about Capt Willis and his rallying cry "Come on Boys, Remember Minden" while holding his cane aloft, it fair broke me up.
At Minden the 20th of Foot (later Lancashire Fusiliers) stood steady and received the French Cavalry charge. Their withering fire broke the French and practically won the battle.
Minden is one of the four Regimental days we honour. St Georges Day, Minden Day, Albuhera Day and Normandy Day.
See you on the Dark Side......

I had the honor to serve with both Aussies and Kiwis in Africa. There is at least one Yank that will continue to honor and remember the lost.
Salute to all the brave men who served in the Gallipoli Campaign, especially this day, 100 years later.
