What about the air war between these 2 in 1945? Anyone know what planes were involved? I know the Russians used paratroopers so they must have had transports.

I do not know much about the air war in question (neither heard nor read of any air fights there), but even "what if" scenario shall work fine: every late war model of both sides would be welcome.

Don't forget the earlier confrontations too - I-16s vs. Ki-27s! Interesting confrontations as the I-16s were improved.
Thanks peoples. Some fascinating information there especially from the UBI forum link. I now have a battlefield video called Manchuria . the forgotten victory as well. To move 1.5 million men all across Russia for that secret onslaught was amazing. Stalin lived up to his Yalta promise to attack Japan brilliantly even if it was only for less than 2 weeks. Ļ think we can craft some missions out of that.
Very interesting stuff, all entirely new to me too Gary.

"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
Prior to reading this my knowledge of the subject was only sketchy at it's best - came from an A-Level History lesson back in 1989 when a 'by the way' discussion developed involving this. After what we had been discussing was the naval Battle of Tsushima as an example of when Russia met Japan confrontationally at all.
Interesting to expand my knowledge after all of these years though what I am really looking for now I am a WGS player is the possibility of a skirmish between Yaks / Hurricane (Kuznetsov) and the Japanese types there are available - Ki-61 or Type 84 Hayate ... Or the Mitsubishi A6M2 Reisen if I can find the from Wings of War.
That looks like a fun game Bob. Po-2 being a little risky, eh?
Always interesting to see a different theatre in action Bob.

Nice pics thanks Bob. I wonder if we will get more China theatre planes in general. More Nationalist and Japanese birds as well as the Russian ones would be good. The C46 was popular on the Burma road run too.
Barnaby,
If you want to get your hands on some Zeros and don't mind painting them yourself, get in touch with AIM, www.armamentinminiatures.com, they have just about any mini plane you can want for WWII or newer and in 1/200 scale.
