Default Pssst! Star Wars Armada... I have a good feeling about this!

    Hi chaps,

last year after leaving Lada's shop Jan (probably him) asked me about Star Wars Armada the game that was about to be released soon.
I never heard of it before then, but got interested...
Now the game has hit the market and we even have a PL version by Galakta, which is absolutely great.
Have any of you had an opportunity to play it? If you have, what is your opinion about it? Is it worth the price?

    Andy.

Andy guys played it yesterday at Ladinek's but all i can say is the thick bases look kind of weird to me . I will ask Kancelot who played it.

    Hello Andy,
We only played 3 (out of 6) rounds with components from 2 core sets. Most of the time we spent with rules clarification and we all kept forgetting nearly everything.
Players alternate in activating big ships. They perform an action (on of four), then they shoot (if can), then move. If it moves too close to the ship, which is yet going to activate, it will hurt. Imperial class destroyer can easily one-shot CR90 corvette with front laser at close distance. Agile ships (CR90) plan actions for current round only, where big ships (Imperial destroyer) plan 3 rounds ahead. In movement you declare speed and side where you place movement template. Then you can adjust joints on the template as you want (we kept forgetting this), BUT you can't overlap template with your ship base.
It is much less straightforward than X-Wing miniatures, but all in all I like the feeling which remained after the game and I think it will progresivelly get better with wave 1 and wave 2, because of more ships to choose from.
If I were to choose X-Wing miniature OR Star Wars Armada, I'd go for X-Wing miniatures.

Sounds like Prague Summer Con would be a superb oportunity to test it, Andrzej
