Thread: Hi From A Lost County

Default Hi From A Lost County

Hi, another new guy checking in.

Thanks to Flying Officer Kyte for the welcome email.

I have been gaming since the 1970's, and still attend a local Friday evening club.

I play WoW/WoG occasionally but never bought anything until the Bomber KS. Now I have the starter set that was offered on its way, plus an 0/400 later in the year.

I am a bit of a purist - probably anally so - so I plan to collect only aircraft that can go with or against the bomber.

    1918 here I come !

    Mine's a pint please

Welcome to the Drome Peter. Joining this website if you are a serious Wings of War / Glory fanatic will soon prove to be very worthwhile.

Fantastic and most welcoming ... Get ready to meet some truly great people on here

    Good evening Peter.
Now I can officially welcome you to the Drome on behalf of the Squadrons based here in Dear old Blighty.
The chaps will make you very welcome in the Officer's Mess later this evening if you care to pop in.
Did you get my Wingman request O.K. If not let me know and I will re transmit it to you.
Most of all though, enjoy your time on the Drome and remember to watch your six.
    Fly safe.
    Rob.

Welcome aboard Pete - an 0/400 is not a bad way to start.

Thanks for the welcomes. I confess that at the moment I am tempted to get a second 0/400 and then umpire 'Stop The Bomber' missions

The other thing I should mention is that for me wargaming is about the Game. So I already have my Snoopy Doghouse and am just waiting for the flight base to turn up

    Happy Landings

Hi Pete - welcome to the Drome!
Long time no see - Conquest exploded, and I now very rarely re-enact (WGF has largely replaced it - and recently WGS, too!).
I still attend the Wednesday club in Pinner where we met up around a year ago.
Great to have another addition to Middlesex Flight!
    cheers
    Tim

Hi Tim. Glad to see you are still around, shame about Conquest though

Might try to make Pinner again, always looking for a good game.

Greetings from an ex-Middlesexite! I used to assiduously include the county every time I quoted my old address; they can't just make counties disappear y'know!

I agree. It was good enough for 1000 years, no need to change it ....

Works for me. If it was on the RAF map, then it is on the membership Flights list.

Show ? Well, I will be at Salute, Milton Keynes, Attack, Colours and Newbury but mostly I will be helping run the club participation game (Staines Wargamers) of Agincourt. 30-40 minutes of trying to get your French noble to capture an English noble or two for a worthy ransom. Drop by and say hello.

    Happy Landings !
