Evening all,
Just heard that the date for the Thornbuty IPMS and wargames show is Sunday August 9th. Do we want to try to make it three awards for best parti game in a row?

'Fraid that's a trifle too far for me Dave.
See you on the Dark Side......
I'm sure tat some of you chaps in the South West will rally round and give Dave a hand.

I should be good for this one again Dave, what we putting on ?
WW1, WW2 or SGN
I was thinking SGN or WGF
Could possibly make this one, though I have never played SGN
Then its about time you tried it Don
Willing to give SGN a go Dave, I've pencilled it in on the calendar so I should be OK, unless the missus come along with a rubber
Booking has gone in
Thanks once again for this Dave.

Something close to home, excellent! Date added to the diary...
No work rosta that far ahead, but since I had such a good time at the last one, I'd like to do it all again!
I am a definate for this Dave, happy with either SGN or WGF, let me know what to bring and I'll be there.
Only fly is , as we have both seen, SGN does not normally grab punters attention, but I'm willing to give it a go
I'd like to volunteer my services, would have to be WGF for me as I have not yet sampled the delights of SGN. Happy to run intro/demo games, spent many years doing that for GW and then for Esdevium at the likes of Salute.
Just a little bump for this thread. I take Chris' point about SGN, so WGF it shall be
Hi Dave,
WGF now done us well for two years, but will it work for a third?
We both know SGN dont grap punters, so how about we conside WGS as its 75 years of BoB?
I got enough to run a few Raids, see what you think

As we are only a couple of Weekends away has it been decided what we will do yet?
I know we banded a few ideas but nothing concrete as yet.
So at risk of poking my nose, i see the three options thus
SGN. Nice game and models but experience shows this dont see to grap the attention of players for some reason, but we have the ships
WGS it is 75 th anniversary of BoB, got the kit but little in scenery, plus be something new.
WGS our tried and trusted game, my only doubt here is will the punters and organisers look at us favourably for a third year doing the same? But we all know and enjoy this. So enthusiasm is there.
These are our otions, can Inask the attendees to vote their preference, I think we have around 8 names to attend this one, so votes in by a week Friday please, you can put onthe thread orpm me.
Lol unless of course Dave has already told the organisers ehat we are putting on
Will somebody please put Thornbury on the calendar please.
Rob.

Well, WGF is the game that I know rules-wise and have experience with, so while that would be a preference, I don't mind giving WGS a spin. I'm familiar with the period, and I'm sure the rules aren't vastly different.
SGN would be my third choice, but still willing to play.
Like Alex, my preference would be WGF but am happy to give anything a go to draw in the punters.
- Neil.
WGF it is
Fine by me, see you all there chaps,
Seaplanes anyone ?
Wingco have added to calendar
Just heard from the organisers, all is OK for Sunday but they did say that they were short of chairs and suggested bringing folding chairs if you have them
What time are we setting up?
Real life is rearing its ugly head, but I hope still be able to make it.
I will be aiming for 0800 to 0830. The event opens to the public at 0930
Many thanks Dave - I'll aim for 08:30
I think I have a seaplane or two, I will bring along what I have.
I will try and get there for 8:30 at latest.
Chaps, some late breaking news. The organisers have had a cancellation and asked me to put on a replacement game. I'm thinking there are enough people down for this game to let me dip out and run the extra game so we should be OK. I'll still be there of course and I will still bring my stuff (esp. seaplanes). I hope thats not going to cause aproblem.
Great news Dave, I was going to bring the new WW1 The Great War game, but now wil just bring airplanes.
All hands to the pump! I'm sure between us all we can pull this off.
See everyone bright and early on Sunday.
- Neil.
I have asked for the two games to be located close to each other so with luck I can cover both if necessary
David
Are you planning on running something WoG related or something else entirely?
- Neil.
Safely back from an awesome day at Thornbury. Actually managed to survive a couple of sorties, even if I did seem to suffer engine problems every time I took to the air.
Photos to follow later.
- Neil.
Splendid day. Many thanks to the chaps for the hard work in organising it.
Couple of handfuls of photos from the day:
Back safe, very tired. LONG trip back (some motorway sections resembling car parks!).
Thanks to all for turning up and sharing the mayhem.
Thanks for posting the pictures, Alex!
Great pictures chaps.
Glad you had a good time and also that my banner is getting good usage.

Great pics. Did you win any silverware?
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Had a great day although I did manage to get shot down in both my games.
I completed my bombing mission and almost got away with minimal damage in my last game until I drew the bang card
What should have been an hours journey home on the motorway took nearly twice as long due to a caravan getting totalled (which some people think is a good thing)
