    Default Heads Up! Bargain alert?

    Gather round chaps

A few of us brave spunky chappies have been posting NOTAMs on the mess notice board informing fellow 20 minuters of bargain kites for sale. At the rate Harry Hun peppers mine I'm bally chuffed to read them

I propose a dedicated post for such Heads Up Bargain Alerts to be sticky, any seconds???

    There you go Andy.
    Thread stuck.

An individual thread stands out much better than (yet another) sticky which we'll have to check for fresh posts if we don't pick it up on the Home page. Just my 2d.

I had the same feeling before I stuck this thread Dave.
I do monitor these threads, and if they don't get sufficient usage I unstick them again.
I will watch this one for a few weeks and see if it attracts any more posts.

    Hi Chaps

Seems to have generated negative vibes, not what was intended.

It's something I started on a cycling forum I run and has proved very successful, just thought it might work here.

Andy, it's just Dave's and my opinion. There may be others who have a different view

It might mean a bit of work moving posts from elsewhere to here, but lets give it a shot and see how it goes.

Richthofen's all-red DR1 £7.59 delivered. You've probebly got several but at this price you can always repaint, Kempfs an easy one to do.

Note to webmaster: this sticky would work better if the newest posts were displayed first IMHO

Cool, found it in setting. Saves trawling through redundant sale notices.

Looks like it's benefiting someone, Richthofen's tripe has sold already!

    Yes indeed Andy.
I have found that it saves bags of time scrolling up through loads of previous posts.
The down side is that you sometimes miss an important prior message.

Default Aeroplanes of the Royal Aircraft Factory

"Aeroplanes of the Royal Aircraft Factory" - Paul R. Hare

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/186126209...oding=UTF8&me=

Okay so its not a miniature but when you're not shooting something a bit of light reading never goes a miss. Although second hand, the first couple in the list are bargains! - I paid a considerable amount more for my copy and it rarely leaves my side. The cheapest s/h on flee-bay is £25.

I can't see it in the book review section (I'm sure someone will put me right) so it's one on my to do list.

Another book, this time for a Kindle or a tablet running the Kindle app.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Winged-Victo...s=ww1+aviation

Autobiographical novel from a guy who was actually there! Fighter pilots of WWII paid five pounds a copy for this book back in 1940 - you get it for the price of a scratch card!

    It's a truely brilliant read

    Default Zap Gel

Here's a plug for an unsung hero - Zap Gel!

Great for setting wing spars and struts and a million other uses. It doesn't dry brittle like other superglue and it's ideal for models that are getting moved around a lot.

This is the cheapest I can find but worth looking out for at the shows
