Just opened up a trunk...
One that hadn't been opened for 70 years, helping tidy up my in-laws house next door, taking stock.
My partner's Great Uncle was apparently a rear gunner on a Lanc in 1944. His F/O uniform with AG wing was the first thing I saw, in pristine condition.
Shut the front door!

What a fantastic find Zoe! That can now be a family treasure for the next generation.
How sweet is that! And as you said, the blouse is in wonderful condition - and the single 'ring' around the cuffs really pops. And his trunk is marked, too. It will be exciting to learn what you learn.

It's a note from the Wagga Wagga Ladies Auxiliary that came with a comfort/amenities package. There's a box of chocolates nearby we haven't opened. Hopefully not with the original contents.

One could get you two - My cousin traded his single AG for a pair raiding Lorient U boat pens Chris as did the rest of his crew.

Just found a respirator (gas mask). Smelling of camphor, but the rubber isn't perished, it's as new.
And a pack nearby turned out to have a parachute in. Probably cargo. No harness, just the canopy. Amazing that such a large area of silk could fit in such a small volume.
