Thread: WGS. Eastern Front Workbench

  1. #1

    Default WGS. Eastern Front Workbench

As I have announced in the W.o.YourWorkbench in Februray, previous month was a busy one for me and my goblins
In this thread I am going to show you some miniatures that will support my Eastern Front scenarios, the so called Forgotten Battles.
Firstly, meet my Shapeways Petlyakov Pe-2.
Schemes are rather generic grenn and green-brown. Please note soviets rarely placed their stars on the upper wing surfaces.
Decals were provided generously by user predhead .
Bases are AA dedicated Ju-88A ones.

    To be continued...

Very impressive as usual my dear friend. Do I take it that you are up for doing even more of this type of aircraft in the future?

My almost and me last weekend for my obsession...

Pssst...that was almost the weekend of my life: cloudy, cold, rainy...simply a superb time .

    Thumbs up

    Nice work as always Andy!
May I ask what the wording in Russian of the side of one means?

Very good question Barry and shame on me I did not translated it at once.
The wording is rather funny and has nothing to do with Stalin, Revolution or other nasty stuff you and I would expect
    It means: "Fighting Girlfriend"

There's a bit of nose art I can get behind.

Default Blasphemous Beautiful Airacobra. Please forgive me.

Now goes Part 2 of my EF Workbench.
I know, I know you US chaps may me for doing that and will have to face it.
But please, blame ARES for leaving the Forgotten Battles behind...
And hear my excuse I DO love that kite and I badly needed to enhance my EF environment.
So here they fly, fantastic Bells Airacobras of AIM 1/200 for what we already have old original NEXUS cards!

Again, tribute goes to user predhead who kindly supplied me with excellent decals!

    Of course...to be continued

Excellent; The Airacobra was underappreciated by the USAAF, but I'm glad you're "Red Team" is making good use of them.

Hey, I like the Airacobra. My wife's grandfather worked in the Bell Aircraft factory in Buffalo, NY before being drafted into the army.

@Barry: No, I have not seen your birds before, Barry. They look cool. How did you find their performance in WGS?
@Rob: Yes, it was a multipurpose and "multinational" plane of the war. I read one biography of a soviet pilot flying this type throughout the war and loved it.

I suspect that you will have to get that one into service before too long Andy.
It's just a pity that the FAA don't seem to have adopted them.

From what I read, the navalized version was something of a disappointment.

Default Sven's targets are swarming;). La-7 minis this time...

I am very sorry chaps, but I have to torture you with another load of Russian minis that we plan to use in Prague this year, according to Honza's and Nightbomber's plans...
Let me present the latest products of my goblins... Four La-7 Shapeways 1/200 planes that I have painted in rather generic camo schemes for those planes and period of the war.
I am sure our Kamerad Boom-Boom Sven will be pleased to shot them down.

    Another very nice offering Andy.
I hope you watch the UK sub forum like a hawk, because we will soon be asking for nominations for games for Doncaster to shortlist. I think we should have at least one Eastern front one.
