Collector for me also!
Collector for me also!
And me!
My name is Fox, and I am a Collector.
I need to see the different versions before I choose between Veteran and Collector.
Six days left!
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
A number of stretch goals to enhance the gameplay experience are planned for the campaign, including special mission and "game mats" related to the models presented; accessories such as deluxe laser-cut rulers and acrylic counters, developed by our partners at Wings of Glory Aerodrome; and more.
I guess game mats like they included in the dambuster Version of the Lancaster MK.III.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Just saw that Veteran will get a HP 0/800! Never heard of that one Before. 0/100, 400 and 1500 but not 800.
Do the 800 differ much from the 400? Different engine or armament?
Certainly got my attention.
This could hold the key to several things I have been waiting for other than just the aircraft.

Loop - I'm pretty sure that's simply a typo, nothing more. Waiting to see the pricing before I decide what I'm in for - definitely an R.VI, maybe more.

Bit's that I found of interest I've made BOLD
The new bombers are expected to deliver in October, 2015
The rewards of this Kickstarter project will not include exclusive miniatures, as these models will become a permanent part of the game, and any player must be able to purchase them through normal distribution after the Kickstarter delivery. To thank the backers, the Kickstarter version of these airplanes will have unique packaging, different from the normal edition, with a "Limited Edition" certificate with each plane. Depending on the success of the project, one or more additional items may be included in this version.

Now if only they did a Veteran Entente Player option I could get both HP 0/400 in one hit

Before everyone gets too excited about the mention of game mats, they are not currently planned as the same type as the City, Country and Coast mats we already have.
I bet we get paper ones like in the dambuster set.
They're nice and fit 100%.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Well, one of them is going to be too hard to see at night and the other will make you not see red
Think F-82...
Just kidding!!
You will have to select Veteran Entente Player and then just double the pledge amount during "checkout". You will then select which paint schemes you want via Ares KS system when the monies are collected (or it should be along those lines).
Or Zwilling!!
Looks like I will be in for collector...and wife already knows
I guess I won't be painting up my 3D printed versions now...all I have to say is that the Zep is a monster!
I think collector for me but I need to see the pricing first. Not sure how these things work, is it all the money up front on day one or do you pay so much a month, just wondering?
I notice that they are describing the early bird special as a 24 hour period; hopefully that means no number limit.
Does anyone know what time zone the kickstarter is set to begin? I would hope GMT, or maybe GMDST.

Trev, it's all-at-once but on the day the KS closes. Meaning, if they've raised their goal in pledges on the ending date (not real hard, a hundred and some-odd All Four packs would do that without anything else) your card gets charged, if they don't make goal the project fails and you pay nothing and get nothing.
Collector for me as well, and an October 2015 delivery? Wowzer!
Could be another late Christmas present then.
That makes it much easier to justify.

Smart idea Trev.
I did laminate, but never thought of cutting up the sheet.
I have another one from the second Lanc, so will give that your treatment.
Thanks for the idea.

Any chance the second HP O/400 to be released could have this experimental night camouflage under the wings ?
Actually this model is a O/100.
Neat idea Trev, will look into that one
i've been in many a kickstarter. you pledge to pay such and such amount, and can up the pledge while the campaign is going on. Once it's over, providing they reach their goal (DUH, like that WONT happen), your credit card will be charged the amount of your pledge. then when the product ships, you'll have a nice product.
Some lesser known companies might not deliver, or fail to deliver. you get your money back in that case on most occasions. BUT in this case, Ares is respected and will deliver. I have no fear of that. The rewards coming for stretch goals won't be anything KS exclusive. All planes, maps, etc, will be attainable later on. Just the packaging will be KS exclusive. Or so I've been told.
october would be an awesome birthday present for me!
The banner now on www.boardgamegeek.com 's homepage gives 4 color schemes (2 for each bomber).
Hurrah - a lozenge R.VI and a nice plain versatile O/400 are just what I had my fingers crossed for there....
I think I am a Veteran at this one. If allows I can even become a Collector. Hmmm...
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
The night camouflage of the Staaken is superb...
...but I like the blue one the most.
...and the red engines of the o/400 are cool, too. I'm happy for every touch of colour on a WGF Entente plane.

Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
I'm with you on that entirely Sven, and it will be great to be able to use the RNAS scouts for escort duty.
Rob.
"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
The HP 0/400's were used mainly at night, Rob, so they did not usually need escorts.
The red engine O/400 is fictitious there was never a Handley Page O/400 or O/100 in that scheme. I spent a good time researching and talking directly with the RNAS (Now the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm) Archivist, the British Army Air Corp. and also directly with the archivist for Handley Page and the answer that came back was a resounding 'NO' there was no such aircraft.
I spoke to Roberto Di Meglio and I've let him know about my findings and they plan on changing the scheme of the plane to represent a more historically correct aircraft.
It's a shame really as I also really liked it.
If it's a shame, why did you insist on this research result?
...and:
Why could they be that shure, that there wasn't a bomber with red engines? You can't see the difference on a black/white picture.
Anyways - if Ares skips the red engines, I hope we get two different greens.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Actually Roberto contacted me, after I mentioned it could possibly be an RNAS aircraft after a debate on another media outlet. My opinion conflicted with their consultant so I decided to find out definitively where this aircraft came from. I'm a teacher of History so you can understand why I was like a dog with a bone on this.
Anyway, how can Handley Page and other archivists be so sure?
All Handley Page bomber aircraft in the RNAS, RFC and later the RAF were painted under very strict orders, they were paranoid of both losing these secret weapons in raids (thus the switch to night bombings) as well as falling in to enemy hands..... .That didn't stop one crew on route to France landing in German occupied territory to ask for directions and albeit giving Germany a brand new O/400 that was then painted up in German markings!
Also it was standard practice for the Handley Page crew’s personal markings and insignia to be painted on the nose cones of the aircraft which was set in the Autumn of 1917– they did not want any easily visible markings on the aircraft and even some units flying them weren't even allowed to do that - due to very strict policy and also due to the high risk of such huge machines getting shot down, they were rather conspicuous aircraft so every attempt to make them less so was taken.
The O’s with uncamouflaged finished had black alpha-numeric’s markings painted at the very rear of the fuselage and white on the Khaki finished aircraft. Also this was the first time that the small red/white/blue flash was ever used on the tail very similar to today’s fin flashes on RAF aircraft, as they felt that mass of white on the previous style was a compromise to the camo of the aircraft – they also used very small roundels for the very same reason.
Also the O's had a never used before markings which was night handling markings, these were thick white lines on load bearing points so that the ground crews could lift/turn the aircraft in to the wind at night without the risk of lifting at a non-loading bearing point.

Actually it was a O/100 that landed behind German lines.
About fictional red engines :
On some pictures, engines appear with a brown colour (that can have let Ares Games makes the red engines).
Anyway, if Ares decides to change one of the model, it could be a nice opportunity to have a one H-P with the experimental night zebra camo that was applied on the O/100 n1459.
I was really looking to the red engine Handley Page, it was my favorite of the 4.
