Well done to Tim and the gang for winning the trophy, well done Rob, and John, for a well executed set of games out of your normal comfort zone (Loved the Malta convoy inclusions).
(Now I wonder why Chris is looking so smug? So how many WGS do you own now Chris is it 3 or 4?)
See you on the Dark Side......

Thanks for sharing, Rob! Looks like a great time... and, although it was nice to see the Martlets in action, the loss of the cruiser has to sting!

It is three now Neil - did I mention I got Galland's 109 (sealed unit) for a fiver from the bring and buy?

You are right there Chris. We knew the Stuka only had about two hit points left. it was the last plane standing. The Cruiser had less than 50% damage from the other attacks and then we got 15 hit points and a special damage card. Nothing but an explosion could sink it even off special damage deck and there it is!
    Boom!

Have to say I love it when the Winco lets me play with some Marlett's. Couple of Kills again yesterday, that makes me about 6 and 0 flying a Marlett across recent shows.
I have a few photo's from the Cruiser scrap which I will post tomorrow hopefully.

Well, Rob, that must have been fun for the others, but - every time you post an AAR I see only smoke trails, fire. and explosions. How come, old friend? Fire walk with me or so?

Hi Everyone, great photos especially of the second game where the pie factory was spared! Great day too on which I played Wings of Glory for the first time ever as did my Wife. Even though she and I managed to suffer a 'midair' during the game ... Thank heavens it seemed to be only a minor bingle!!!

Quick question if I may please. Where did the Grumman Martletts come from and also where may I obtain an Me Bf109 like the one I was using during our game? We both hope to see everyone again soon and to stay in touch

The Martletts and Messerschmitt Bf109E's were part of the original series 1 released by Nexus Games. Ares Games, who took over from Nexus, have not announced that they will be reprinting series 1 yet, although many people would like them to do it. The other planes in series 1 were Spitfire Mk I's and Mitsubishi Zero A6M2's.

Sometimes second hand models appear for sale on places like eBay but the seller often wants a ridiculously high price.

David, thank you very much for your Grumman Martlett / Me Bf109E information above. Hopefully series 1 will be re-produced as I have only just begun playing Wings of Glory and also collecting the WW2 aircraft miniatures.

I can imagine the situation on E-Bay given how I look on there daily for any new listings and have not seen one yet for any WW2 Series 1 aircraft type. It sounds as if whenever I go to conventions and meetings that I would be wiser to pay more attention to any 'bring and buy sale' activity which is going on. Much appreciated

Looks like a great time was had by (almost) all, Rob! And I love your ground target cards and explosion markers. I assume the train and train yards are home-made cards? Are the explosions on land and sea from Litko?

    Great pictures

    All the best,

    Hi Matt,
the train cards I found in the files section of this site, by MaxHeadroom.
I've used them a couple of times, and they are great fun.
I use a house rule of giving the AA guns 1 1/2 ruler firing range as follows short 2xC damage long 1xC damage longest 1xB damage.
The rolling stock get 5 hit points each, the Loco 15 hit points.
Destroyed fuel tanks take out the carriages to either side, or two flat cars to either side.
I use Whirlwinds for the allies, damage is 2xC at long range and 4xC at close range.
getting home can be the hard part, if the 109s are positioned well.

    Hi Matt.
Yes the explosions, flack bursts, fire markers, and water splashes are all Litko.
